She was a violinist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and also played in the Baton Rouge String Trio. A lifelong volunteer with the American Red Cross, she taught disaster nursing and worked in shelters during hurricane evacuations. Her happiest times were spent at the family camp on the Tickfaw River; she loved to fish or just sit on the porch. Funeral arrangements are being made by Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street (www.rabenhorst.com). The service is scheduled for Monday, May 1, at noon, with viewing beginning at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.
