We also wish to extend our sincere appreciation to all the medical and nursing staff at the Cross Cancer and Misericordia Hospital. Cherished brother of Rieta Harper (late Bob) of Uxbridge, Bob King (Linda) of Barrie, Ruby Thornton (Laurel) of Nipissing, Raymond King (Elaine) of Chelsey, Clarence King of Etobicoke, Valerie Chadbourn (David) of Nipissing and Adam King of Nipissing. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. All are welcome, COVID-19 protocols must be observed. A private attendance funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm and will be live-streamed (see link below). Dear brother of Bep Udo, Greet Boelhoower, Ditje Hol and Jan van Gessel, all of the Netherlands. Casey will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Rodney, Jeffrey, Kristi, Katrina, Scott, Casey, Sarah, Justin, Amanda and a great-granddaughter Amelia. Predeceased by his parents Cornelis and Elizabeth van Gessel (nee Brandwyk), a sister Mienje Fintelman and a brother Dirk. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Potsdam - Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Methodist Episcopal church for Mrs. Catherine Price, 74, who died Saturday at her home on the Madrid road, The Rev, Dean E. Richardson, pastor, officiated and burial was in Bayside cemetery.
Mrs. Price was born in Canada Dec. 26, 1862, a daughter of John and Nancy Barkley Ondikirk. For the past 50 years she had resided in this section. Surviving are her husband, Arthur Price, two daughters and a son.

Funeral services were held at the Paul Funeral Home Chapel Powassan on Friday December 9 1983 for Charles Edward Byers. Rev Manliff Mitchell conducted the services. Spring burial will take place at Callander Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Byers, Al Gardiner, Bob and Wally McDonald, Norman Ayers and Garfield Van Horne.
Mr. Byers, who was born June 27 1889 in Renfrew, Ontario, served in WWI and was a member of Callander Branch 445 Royal Canadian Legion. He was predeceased by his wife Viola South, whom he married in Callander in 1920. He was predeceased also by his parents William and Annie Byers.
Mr. Byers was a carpenter, trapper and guide and a member of Knox United Church, Callander.
Surviving are his sons Edward and George of Callander, and daughters Mildred Ayers, Clara (Mrs. Jim Jamieson), Bernice (Mrs. Manfred McDonald) also all of Callander.
Mr. Byers passed away in Newcastle, New Brunswick on December 7 1983.

Kelly, 68, of 27 Shamrock Ave, who died Tuesday night in the Taylor-Brown Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, following a brief illness, will be at 2 pm Friday at the Doran Funeral Horne here The Rev Robert Shackles, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, will officiate and burial will be in Restvale.
A veteran of World War I, Mr Kelly was a retired employee of Goulds Pumps, where he had been employed for 40 years prior to his retirement a few years agо. He was also a member of the Kirk-Casey American Legion Post.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucy Wiley Kelly, at home: and two sisters, Mrs. Harold Birch, Waterloo, and Mrs. Grace Woods of Seneca Falls.

The funeral for Mr. Mel McConnell was conducted Monday, November 19, 1990 in the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan by Reverend Harold Stuart.
Mr. McConnell died suddenly Thursday, November 15, 1990 at the North Bay Civic Hospital in his 72nd year.
He was the beloved husband of Ann (Waldriff), Callander; loving father of Shirley Adam, Callander; Gerry and his wife Lucille, Niagara Falls; Glen and his wife Susan; Roy and his wife Mary, all of Callander; Cheryl and her husband Donnie Storic, Powassan; daughter-in-law Mona, wife of the late Ross. Dear brother of Milton, Laura Dobbs, Golden Valley; Clarence, Ida Howe, North Bay; Merville, Vera Dobbs, Powassan; Myrtle Ransome, Edith Lamb, Parry Sound; the late Bernice, Alex and Harvey. Lovingly remembered by 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mel was the son of the late Charles and Ellen McConnell. Prior to his retirement Mel worked in trucking and in carpentry and his family recall that he was able to repair anything. He very much enjoyed ice-fishing, hunting and animals, especially horses.
Pallbearers for Mr. McConnell were Burton Dobbs, Gord Thompson, Dennis McConnell, Allan Waldorf, Paul Dobbs and Bryan Dobbs.
Following the service, a reception was provided by the ladies of the Nipissing North Community Centre.

Clara was the dear sister of Mildred Ayers, North Bay; Edward Byers, Callander and was predeceased by her brother George Byers and sister Bernice McDonald. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan (724-2024) on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

He leaves his widow, Margaret Powell Farnsworth, his parents, and a brother, Frederick C. Farnsworth, second. The funeral is to be held from the Farmsworth home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev, Charles E. Cragg of St, John's Church officiating. Interment will be private.

Transitioned peacefully Thursday, October 20, 2011. He was born on May 31, 1922 in Ohio, the eldest of five children. He served his country in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific during World War II and provided for his family in his occupation as a master tool & die maker. Cletus is survived by Lois Cutcher, his wife of 65 years; two sons, Glen (Marlene) and Stephen (Mindy); five grandchildren, Laurel (Randle), Stephanie (Forrest), Ian, Jeffrey and Jane; and two great-grandchildren, Celeste and RJ. Also surviving Cletus are his brothers, Ralph (Bernice), Harold; sister-in-law, Jeanne Cutcher; and brother-in-law, Earl Barrett. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; a sister, Marian; and a brother, Edward. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Cletus will be remembered fondly for his many great stories, his handcrafted boomerangs, and his sense of humor.

TURNER D'Arcy Mackenzie It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of D'Arcy Turner formerly of Candle Lake at the Herb Bassett Home on September 22, 2010. D'Arcy was born January 24, 1923 in Schrieber, Ont. After being discharged from the RCAF, at Dafoe Sask. In 1944 he married the love of this life Jean. They moved to BC for a short time before returning to Saskatchewan and he joined the CN as an Agent Operator. He remained with CN for 35 years, living in 16 locations in Saskatchewan. In 1983 he and his Jean retired to Candle Lake, which he called God's Country, where he remained until he entered the hospital and later Herb Bassett. He will be sadly missed and remembered by his son Robert of Regina, grandsons Blair of Saskatoon, Kevin (Nita) their children Abi and Luke of Calgary and granddaughter Heather (Matt) of Calgary. D'Arcy was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Emma, his wife Jean, sons Scott and Donald and his siblings Ben, Sybil, Albert, Beatrice and Tom. At D'Arcy's request there will not be a funeral service. Interment Candle Lake Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Herb Bassett Home for the compassionate and loving care of D'Arcy over the past year. Memorial donations in D'Arcy memory may be made to the Herb Bassett Home.
