 | Boy Dies On Fifth Birthday Boy Dies On Fifth Birthday
Bradley Mulligan, of 883 Colborne Street was fatally injured on his fifth birthday Saturday in a Burford area farm accident.
Bradley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Mulligan had gone to a location a mile south Highway 53 on the Bishops-gate Road with his father. Mulligan was doing some work with his back-hoc when the accident occurred.
Police say the youngster was sitting on the rear seat of the backhoe when he told his father he wanted to get off. Mulligan brought the machine to a halt and Bradley jumped down between the rear wheels and the hoe.
Prov. Const. John Tate said the boy's coat caught on the pedal that activated the boom, and the boom on the hoe pinned him. He was taken to the Brantford General Hospital in a private car and died about 45 minutes later of severe internal injuries.
