Margaret G. Stevens, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 29, 2017. She was born in Burlington, VT to Joseph and Delia (Bessette) Burbo May 9, 1931.
She and her husband, Donald, raised three children together. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed crocheting and camping. She loved her life, family, and was exceptionally proud to be a Nulhegan Abenaki citizen.
Margaret is survived by her three children Donna Burritt of Richmond, VT, Joyce McEntee and her husband Gerald of Burlington, VT, Donald Stevens, Jr. and his wife Diane of Shelburne, VT; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; her brothers Douglas and Victor Burbo; her sisters Katherine Tobin, Helen Terhune, and Elizabeth Parrott.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald W. Stevens, Sr., her parents Joseph and Delia Burbo, brothers Walter, Richard, Reginald, and Kenneth Burbo, sister, Mary Lemons, son-in-law Ernest Burritt.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot Street, Richmond, VT. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Gifford Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Huntington immediately following the service.
The family wants to say a special thanks to Genesis HealthCare Facility for the wonderful care she received throughout her stay and at the end of her life.

It is with great sadness that Marg’s family announces her passing on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at the age of 89. She was the most beloved wife to Donald for over 71 years and a proud mother of Nancy Martin (the late Ian), Roy (Yolanda), Kevin (Janet), Colleen Trudel (the late Tim) and Shawn (Stacey Melymick). Cherished grandmother of Travis (Tracy), Amy (Gilbert), Nia, the late Brett, Shay, Paige, Ashley (Brian), Kelsey, Paul, Ryan (Rachelle), Keaton and Gregory. Great-grandmother of Duncan, Devon, Darcy, Evianna, Idris, Quinn, Rory and Scarlett. Marg is predeceased by her brother Donald Kemp. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Marg was an active long-time member of The Daughters of the Nile, The Eastern Star and the Friendly Circle at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Ottawa Masonic Temple, 2140 Walkley Rd, on Thursday, September 12th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m., in the Red Room. A Daughters of the Nile service will be held at 7 p.m. and the Eastern Star Service will follow at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial service will be held Friday, September 13th, at the St Thomas the Apostle Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive at 11 a.m.

The death occurred suddenly at Sioux Lookout, Sept. 3, of Mrs. Andrew Rankin, in her 49th year.
The former Margaret Grace Nisbet was born in 1920, daughter of the late David Nisbet and his wife, Laura Munro of Elphin, Ont. Her early life was spent in that community. Later she attended business college in Ottawa and was employed by the Bank of Canada for a number of yoars.
On August 1, 1942, she was married to Andrew Blake Rankin of Ottawa. Fallowing her marriage she lived for several years in Ottawa before moving to Sudbury, and Deep River, where she resided at the time of her death.
Mrs. Rankin is survived by her husband, a brother, Murray Nisbet of Elphin and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Cecil Nisbet, died in 1945. The funeral service was conducted by Mr. J. A. Forrester in Elphin Presbyterian Church on Monday, Sept. 8. Friends attended from Sioux Lookout, Sault Ste Marie, Deep River, Ottawa, Perth, Carleton Place and Almonte.
Many floral tributes and donations to the Heart Fund were received by the family.
The pallbearers were David Nisbet, _______ Ferguson, John Rutherford, Robert Ferguson, Archie MacDougall and David Ferguson.
Flower bearers were Brenda and Cathy Nisbet, Sharon, Linda and Jackie Ferguson.
Interment was in the family plot in Crawford's Cemetery.
