 | Ora Tisdale TISDALE. Ora Harding Tisdale, 97, of 28 Sterling Hill Road, Lyme, died Monday (Dec. 27) at the Crest Elm Convalescent Home in Moodus. She was born in Lyme, October 16, 1896, the daughter of the late James Ely and Ida Gertrude Laplace Harding. Mrs. Tisdale was a lifelong resident of Lyme. She was a graduate of Radcliffe College in 1921, and taught Astronomy and Physics at Wheaton College and Mathematics at Miss Porter's School in Farmington. She married Walter H. Tisdale in Lyme, July 5, 1925. He died March 17, 1983. Mrs. Tisdale was a member and secretary of the Board of Education of Lyme from 1946 to 1952, and was secretary to the Board of Selectman 1957 to 1969. She also compiled the Lyme Town Report for 24 years. She also served as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors of the Lyme Public Library 1950 to 1969. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lyme, and an honorary member of the Lyme Garden Club and the Lyme Grange. She is survived by five grandchildren, Anne Magee of Boston, Mass., Kathleen Tisdale, and Peggy Feeney, both of Lyme, Robert Tisdale of Lyme, and John Tisdale of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara, who died in December of 1953, and her son, Walter, who died January 1, 1987. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Lyme on Route 156. Burial will follow in the North Lyme Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyme Public Library, Route 156, Lyme 06371. The Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme, has care of the arrangements.

ORANG E -- Lee Hammond Baker, Jr., 31, of 627 High Ridge road, was killed last night in a car accident on the racing strip of Lime Rock park in northern Litchfield county.
Mr. Baker was a passenger in a sports car being driven around the track without authorization by Thomas M, Lewis, 22, of New York City, state police said.
When James E. Haynes, the track manager, saw the Lewis sports car, he drove out in a station wagon to order Lewis away,
The two vehicles collided head-on, state police said. Mr. Baker was killed instantly and Mr. Lewis received superficial injuries, Mr. Hayes escaped without being hurt, state police.
State police said Mr. was apparently a racing enthusiast who wanted to see "how it felt to drive around the track".
The accident occurred after a day of sports car racing at the
oval.
Services will he conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m, in the George J. Smith and Sen funeral home, 135 Broad street, Milford, by the Rev, Nigel Andrews of Cencord, Mass. Cremation will be in Mountain Grove Crematory, Bridgeport,
Born in Norfolk, Va., Mr. Baker had resided in Orange three months. A graduate of Yale universily, class of 1953, he was systems engineer with IBM in New Haven. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America, New York region.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lewis Lee Reynolds Baker; a son, Lane Paul Baker; a daughter, Laurie Ann Baker; and his parents, Mr. and Mis, Lee Baker of Lyme.

 | Orval Ayerst AYERST-Orval Lloyd George Ayerst of Moose Jaw, passed away Friday, April 3, 1998 at the age of 79 years. Born March 21, 1919 in Marquis, Sask., Orval was raised in Tuxford until age ten when he moved with his family to Moose Jaw where he has since resided. He attended West Mount Public School and was employed with Swift Packers until its closure. Orval then worked at various jobs until his employment at Sash & Door in 1962, retiring in 1985. During his retirement, Orval enjoyed fishing with his buddies, especially Otto Eirich and Lloyd McMaster, He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth Ayerst; brothers: Roger, Ed and Art Ayerst; two sisters: Vera Hiebert and Muriel Miller. Orval is survived by his wife, Olly; three sons and their families: Mel (Laurel) Ayerst-Regina and their family: John (Stacey) Ayerst and their children, Kyle and Kelsey-Edmonton, Alta, Leanna Ayerst and special friend, Steve Duncan and their son, Austin- Moose Jaw; George (Viv) Averst-Brandon and their son, Jeremy; Walter (Cheryl) Ayerst-Moose Jaw and their family: Lana Ayerst and special friend, Brian Vanioff and Jason Ayerst; a brother, Ken (Berta) Ayerst as well as several nieces and nephews. A private time of visitation and prayer was held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon. A further time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw, Tuesday, April 7, 1998, 7-9 p.m. In keeping with Orval's wish, there will be no funeral service. Following cremation at Prairie Memorial Crematorium, memorialization will take place privately at a later date at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial for the Sask.  | Orville Perry Baby Perry - Orville J. Perry, infant child of the late Mrs. Hiram L. Perry, died at the home of the child's uncle, Frank Samis, Monday morning of bronchial pneumonia. The infant was born Dec. 6, 1916, and lost its mother by death 11 days later. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, which made the third funeral from this home in three months. The other funerals were those of Mrs. A.M. Bregg and Mrs. Hiram L. Perry.
The father of Baby Perry was called to Canada owing to the illness of his father and could not be present at the funeral. The grandmother, Mrs. James Dark of Montague, was present.
