WINGHAM - Samuel Coulter 73, of East Wawanosh Township; was buried in Wingham Cemetery today, following the funeral at Curries Funeral Home here. Rev. Robert Marshall officiated.
Mr. Coulter, who died Wednesday at Wingham General Hospital, farmed all his life. He was a member of Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Whitechurch.
His wife, the former Bessie Jane Laidlaw, predeceased him.
Surviving are a son, John Patrick of Chatham; three brothers. George of Wingham, Frank of Whitechurch and Alex of London, Ont., and a sister, Mrs. John (Mable) Craig of Whitechurch.

Samuel Rae Banning, claims adjuster for the Ottawa Electric Railway since 1934, died this morning at a local hospital at the age of 66 years.
Mr. Banning has been with the OER since June 20, 1905, starting as a streetcar conductor. He was advanced to the position of inspector in 1913, and became claims adjuster in 1934. He held the latter post up to the time of his death. Mr. Banning had been ailing since November 1946.
Born at Arnprior on March 3, 1880, the son of Thomas Banning and Sarah Rae, he came to Ottawa 42 years ago, and entered the service of the OER almost immediately. Mr. Banning received his education in Arnprior.
During his long residence in the Capital, Mr. Banning made a host of friends in all walks of life, who mourn his passing with a keen sense of personal loss.
Prominent Mason
Prominent in Masonic circles Mr. Banning was a member of the Chaudiere Lodge, of which he was a past master and former secretary. He was also a member of Rose Croix, and a member of the Canadian Club of Ottawa.
Mr. Banning worshipped at Stewarton United church. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rebecca Mary Ray, in November 1945. He resided at 57 Harmer avenue.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Walker, 516 Highland avenue, a sister, Mrs. George Sims, Kimberly, BC, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in the chapel of Hulse and Playfair, Limited, 315 McLeod street. Rev. F. S. Milliken, minister of Stewarton church, will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood cemetery.

Dear sister of Merlene Bradford (husband Bill) of North Bay, Ken (predeceased, surviving wife Peg of New Liskeard), Marvin (wife Mary) of Timmins and twin sister of Susan Bailey (friend Gerry Forcier) of Lively. Cherished grandmother of Austin, Kiley, Joshua, Noah, Emma, Macarthur and Cameron. Also survived by her step-children Steve King (wife Heidi), Cary King (wife Irene), Sherry Young (husband Andrew) and Christopher King, all of Sudbury. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Sandra was born in New Liskeard on January 12th, 1956, daughter of Wilda (nee Pacey) and Stuart Frew (both deceased). Being surrounded by family and friends brought much joy to her life. Sandra absolutely loved living at her home on the lake, especially watching her grandchildren swim there. Some of her favourite pastimes were gardening, knitting and watching the ducks and geese at the lake. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial visitation at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. (at Hazel St.), Sudbury on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

A long time resident of Almonte, Sarah Ila Scott Coxford passed away at the Almonte Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness, on Monday November 4th. in her 88th year.
Born at Clayton, Ontario, on April 12th 1887, she was the eldest daughter of William Henry Scott and Rachel Evans. Several years later the family moved to Almonte.
In 1910 she married Herbert L. Coxford, of Almonte, who predeceased her in 1964. She was a member of Almonte United Church and in her younger years took part in many organizations of the Church.
She is survived by one son, and three daughters: Edwin, Winnipeg; Elizabeth (Mrs R. Duncan), Almonte; Kathleen (Mrs C. M. Thomson) Mississauga; Ruth. (Mrs K. Fresque), Ottawa; and twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Surviving is a sister, Bessie (Mrs George Van Iderstine), Saskatoon. Four brothers and one sister predeceased her, Harvey, Eddie, Alston, James and Lucy (Mrs Frank Snow)
the funeral was held November 6th, 1974, from the Kerry Funeral Home in Almonte, rev Robert McCrea of the Almonte United Church conducted the service. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Johnston, Edward Scott, John Thomson, Donald Duncan, Eric Fresque and Dwight Christensen.
