 | Wilbur Tibbitts Wilbur E. Tibbitts, Jr., of Ft. White passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. He was 81.
Mr. Tibbitts was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, moved to Ft. White in 1996 coming from Ft. Myers. He was a chemical engineer and he served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in High Springs.
Mr. Tibbitts was preceded in death by his grandson Curt Tibbitts, Jr. His Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carla N. Tibbitts of Ft. White; 2 sons, Allen Tibbitts of Virginia; Curt Tibbitts of Grant, FL; and one daughter, Gail Schumacher of Orange Park; two sisters & two brothers all of Michigan; seven grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at 10:30a.m. at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in High Springs, Florida.

 | Wilburn Byers Wilburn Byers died peacefully at Waters Edge, North Bay on Friday, November 4, 2022. He was 89 years old. Wilburn was predeceased by his parents Agnes (McConnell) and Levi Byers; his siblings Gladys Mason (the late Tom), Evelyn Byers, Violet Hazelwood (the late Eric), Greta Bayliss (the late Hector), Andrew and Tom Byers (Caroline of Medicine Hat, Alberta). He was the dear brother of Wilda Byers of Dunnville, Sam Byers (Ethel) of Dunnville, Gwen Hazelwood (Clarence) of Renfrew and Marjorie Trainer of North Bay. He is also survived by sons Daniel and Patrick Byers. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Wilburn was a retired maintenance worker at the former E.T.I. and lived previously in Callander and Powassan. His family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. and on Wednesday, November 9, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Paul Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, and will be live-streamed at paulfuneralhome.ca. Interment at Nipissing Cemetery.

A long time resident of this city, Mr. Wilfred Byers passed away at Leisure World, Saturday, January 14th. He was 84. Mr. Byers was born and resided at Bark Lake (Renfrew County), as well as Nipissing Village and Parry Sound. He moved to North Bay in 1941. A person interested in nature, Mr. Byers was an ardent carver and mounted moose and deer horns as a hobby. He was also an avid hunter. He enjoyed music to the fullest, playing the violin for house parties when living in Nipissing and also as a pastime until sickness intervened. He also repaired violins. Mr. Byers is survived by a son, Emmeth, Mrs. John Collins (Helen), Mrs. Harvey Collins (Ethel) and Mrs. Robert Steed (Bernice), all of North Bay. He will be fondly remembered by fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Gordon of Clearwater, Florida, and a sister, Mary Ellen Lines of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Byers, brothers, Kenneth, William, Lorne and Hubert, and a sister Mrs. George Hignell (Eucaria). Funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Jack David at St. Peter's Church, Tuesday, January 17th at 11 am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Walter, Warner and Eric Byers, Robert and Michael Collins, and Carl Glass.

Janet Page officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Services for Willard Jecks, 76, 2206 46th St., Rock Island, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, with military rites conducted.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with masonic services at 7:30. Memorials may be made to Heart Fund or Church of Peace United Church of Christ Centennial Fund.
Mr. Jecks died Wednesday, July 26, 1995, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.
Mr. Jecks was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Wauconda, Ill., the son of Ellis Preston and Dora Isabel Grantham Jecks. He married Ruby Louise VanZandbergen June 11, 1949, in Rock Island.
He attended Bradley University, Peoria.
He was employed as inspection foreman at Eagle Signal Corp., formerly of Moline, until 1966. Later, he worked as a quality assurance specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal, for 14 years.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Moline Consistory and Rock Island Lodge 658. He was also active in local camping clubs.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and mall walking.
Survivors include the widow; sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Barbara Jecks, Deltona, Fla., and Robert and Marcy Jecks, East Moline; and grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly, Timothy and Lisa.

He was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Kit Carson, Colo., to Phil and Lottie Kellogg Mullen. He was a longtime resident of the Maysville area. He was a rancher, carpenter and steel guitar player. He was a former president and charter member of the Northeast Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association, playing steel guitar for various events.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Billy Mullen.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Mae Mullen of the home; two sons, Bill Mullen and wife Teresa of Maysville and Levi Mullen of Hondo, Texas; two daughters, Cheryl Pickering and husband John of Lumberton, Texas, and Charlene Newell and husband Paul of Gravette (Arkansas); four grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard Mullen of Leota, Kan., Melvin Mullen of Brush, Colo., and Delmar Mullen of Seibert, Colo.; four sisters, Florence Aumiller of Laramie, Wyo., Donna Smith of Paonia, Colo., Shirley Ann Moyer of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Esther Slawson of Aurora, Colo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 14, 2004) at the Maysville Community Center with the Rev. Raymond Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Maysville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 13, 2004) at Wasson Funeral home in Siloam Springs (Arkansas).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maysville Extension Homemakers Club or the Maysville Fire Department.
