2056 Gay, Larry Passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Larry was born November 2, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI to Wayne E. Gay and Beryle (Pennock-Gay) Sage. He graduated from Delton Kellogg High School in 1962. He joined the Marine Corp in January 1963 for 4 years and spent 9 months in Viet Nam. Larry worked 3-1/2 years as a deputy for the Barry County Sheriff Dept. and 27-1/2 years as a deputy for the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Dept., retiring in December, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Knobloch) Gay; their son, Randy; brothers, Wayne (Jan) Gay and Kevin (Diane) Sage; sister, Debra Sutter; several nieces, nephews, stepbrothers and a stepsister. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Irene; mother and stepfather Mahlan. According to his wishes, Larry has been cremated and will be laid to rest at Ft. 2057 Gayle Lucille Shulters, 92, died Oct. 4, 2009, at Broward General Hospital. She was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and lived in Fort Pierce for 20 years, coming from Batavia, Ill. She was of Christian faith. She was a member of Indian Pines Women's League Golf Club of Fort Pierce and Spring Lake Country Club in Spring Lake, Mich. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Robert B. Shulters of Fort Pierce; daughter, Marcia Lynn Shulters of Fort Pierce; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ayvonne Whimes and June Warren. Services: A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Thomas S. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Gayle Ouellette (nee Elder), 80, of Carman, Manitoba, after experiencing recent heart issues. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Deb (Bill) Vanderveen and son Rick Ouellette (Rhonda Spencer).
Each and everyday Mom missed our father, John, who passed away in 2014. She was also predeceased by brothers Bryson (Lucille) Elder, Jim Elder, Lynn Elder; sister Cheryl (Ron) Muir; brother-in-law?s Norm Ouellette, Ray Ouellette, and Cliff Archibald. Mom will be deeply missed by her sister Sharon McCoy of Pilot Mound and sister-in-law?s Joyce Elder of Holland, MB, Aurore Ouellette of Cold Lake, AB, Darlene Ouellette of Langley, BC, Bernice Archibald of Elm Creek, MB; brother-in-law Delbert (Bonnie) of Lacombe, AB, and half-brother-in-law Stuart Hooey (Audrey) of Treherne, MB. She will also be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren (who called her GG) Chad (Naomi) Vanderveen, Makayla, Reed, Lucas, and Silas of Guelph, ON; Nikki (Chris) Kooiker, Scarlet, Sienna, and Hudson of Calgary, AB; Megan (Al) Visscher, Madelyn and Natalie of Carman, MB; Bryan Vanderveen (Breanne VanTol) of Fergus, ON; Ashley Ouellette (Matt Glowa) of Winnipeg, Derek Ouellette (Amanda Cannon) of Argyle, Mb; and Carson Ouellette of Stonewall, MB.
Mom was born in Woodbay, MB to William and Edith Elder. After finishing school, she moved to Elm Creek where she met the love of her life, John. Together their lives took on many adventures while dad was in the RCAF living in Gimli, France, Germany, Moose Jaw, Dartmouth, Shearwater, Elm Creek, Holland, and finally in Carman. She worked at the CIBC in Elm Creek at the age of 17 before their marriage in 1959, then rejoined the same branch when they moved back to Elm Creek in 1977. Mom had a vast number of talents including arts and crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting and always an enthusiastic crib player. She was always a steadfast partner with Dad in every stage of their lives together whether making a new home for their family in each of the places they lived, fencing on a hobby farm, or weekend camping trips following the horse races.
Friends were important to Mom. After Dad passed, Mom kept busy staying connected to friends and family. She loved meeting up for long lunches and getaway trips with girlfriends no matter if it was a short drive to a restaurant or a 2 week long bus trip. She never lost her love of travel.
She was our Mom, but always our best friend as well. We will miss you dearly, Mom.

2060 GENTRY , Michael A. On June 6, 2010, Michael A. Gentry, of Glen Burnie. Beloved husband of Viola Gentry (nee Knotts) who is formerly of Elk Garden, WV. He is predeceased by his parents, George and
Jennie Atkins and two brothers, George Atkins III and Walter Gentry. He is survived by his loving family, Mary Walker of Jacksonville (NC), Angela Atkins and Charlie Wyckoff of Ellicott City (MD), Rachel Monda of Glen Burnie, Mildred and Keith Moreland of Elk Garden (WV) and Clifford and Jean Knotts of Elk Garden (WV). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy SE in Glen Burnie on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. 2061 George A. Price, 73, of 112 Woodlawn Avenue, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, February 13, 1955 at his home after an illness of several months.
Surviving are his wife, one son, George Price, 136 Russell Road; a brother, Walter Price, Potsdam; two sisters, Mrs. Michael (Dora) Jerome, Potsdam and Mrs. Laura Bice, Ogdensburg, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Price was born November 5, 1881 in Berwick, Ontario the son of Arthur and Catherine Ouderkirk Price. He received his early education in Berwick and moved to Potsdam with his parents when a boy of 12.
On September 9, 1910 he and Neda LaPointe were married in Potsdam. He worked as a carpenter and millwright in Potsdam and Pyrites and on April 1, 1914 became employed by the Massena Works of Alcoa, working there until his retirement nine years ago. He was a member of Alcoa's 25-Year Club and of St. Mary's Church.

2062 GEORGE A. WALTON JAN. 25, 1920 JAN. 19, 2009 ANDERSON, S.C. George Alfred Walton, age 88, of 518 Richland Creek Road, Anderson, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at his residence. Born in Huntington, Vt., on Jan. 25, 1920, he was a son of the late Harold Henderson Walton and Sarah Hamner Walton. He was a retired contractor, a former Cub Scout Leader and Member of The Grange. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Elizabeth Bell Walton; sons, Harold Walton, George Walton Jr., Lance Walton, and stepson Donald Godsoe; daughters, Kathryn Palmer, Judith Gottshall, Terri Lynn Thibault, and stepdaughter Debbie Brookfield. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. 2063 George Bakos, 80, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Middletown died Sunday, Nov. 30 at his home in Lady Lake. He was a warehouseman and manager for Middletown Plumbing and Heating in Middletown for 49 years before retiring in 1993. He was born in Newark, and lived in Middletown for 50 years, moving to Lady Lake 15 years ago. George celebrated his 80th birthday with a party in September surrounded by his family and friends. He was a former member of Middletown Elks Lodge 2179, Middletown, and VFW Post 2179, Port Monmouth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris M. Bakos, 1962; sister, Mary Bakos and brother, John Bakos. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Marion White Bakos, of Lady Lake; son, George J. 2064 George Bostwick
Longtime resident of Hood River, George Eben Bostwick, passed away March 27, 2004, at Providence Hospital in Portland, Ore. He was 78 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at Anderson Tribute Center on Friday, April 2, at 2 p.m. with interment at Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River.
George was born in Battle Creek, Mich., on March 14, 1926, the son of Lyle D. and Edith Wilson Bostwick.
He was preceded in death by an older brother Kenneth and has two living sisters, Marie of Battle Creek, Mich., and Betty of Spray, Ore. His family moved to Portland when he was three years old and he attended grade school there. They moved to Hood River for eighth grade at Barrett School, then back to Portland to complete grade school. He returned to Hood River in 1940 to attend high school. He graduated in 1944.
On Feb. 1, 1944, George joined the U. S. Navy and he served in the South Pacific Theater - New Guinea, Australia and the Philippine Islands. He was discharged May 26, 1946, in Bremerton, Wash., and returned to Hood River where he married his childhood sweetheart, Eileen Evans, at the old Hood River Valley Christian Church on Sept. 9, 1946.
George and Eileen were blessed with two children, Thomas George and Annette Louise, and four grandchildren: Marsha Schnieder of Fredricksburg, Va.; Mary Bostwick of Hood River; Becky and Joshua Owen, of Corvallis, Ore.
George worked most of his life in the Hood River Valley that he loved. During his employed years he worked at the saw mill in Dee; in the Radliff Orchards; as a salesman at Hood River Supply; a realtor for Larry Young and 26 years for the United States Postal Service where he retired on July 9, 1985.
After retirement George enjoyed having the time to continue working in the garden; boating on the Columbia (especially in the wind); hiking; camping; fishing; metal detecting and he and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively in the United States and other countries.
From his youth, George had been involved in the Christian faith. He was active in the Hood River Valley Christian Church for 34 years having served as a deacon and an elder and helped in the construction of the present building. In his later years he had been active in the Odell and Tucker Road Baptist Churches.

2065 George Burton Moses, 84, of Canton, ascended to Valhalla on Saturday, (March 26, 2005). Born May 29, 1920 in Unionville, son of the late George Lyman and Gertrude (Harris) Moses. A veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, George was an inventor, pilot, scholar, outdoorsman and highly skilled carpenter. His outstanding collection of American antique ironware is on display at the Morris Connecticut Museum. He is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Moses of Canton, Sharon Iles of Haddam and Lucinda Moses of Windsor; and cousins and friends. 2066 George Daniel Stewart, a resident of Ramsay township, died at Almonte General Hospital of Jan 11, 1983 after a lengthy illness. He was 75. Born on March 25, 1907, the son of the late James Stewart and Catherine Munro, he was educated at SS No 6, Ramsay, and married Isabel Lawson and March 29, 1934 at Cedar Hill, who survives him. He worked as a farmer in Lanark county all of his life. Mr Stewart is survived by sons James of Pakenham township, Daniel at home, and daughters Doris (Mrs Ellard Peever) of Cobden, and Mary of Ottawa. He is also survived by brothers Robert, Malcolm and William of Almonte. he is predeceased by one son Elmer. Funeral service was held at the Kerry Funeral Home on Jan 13 at 11 am, the Rev Jack Lougheed officiating. Burial was at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jack Penman, Donald Munro, Glen Lawson, Robert Cochran, Robert Gunn and Donald Stewart.

2067 George Ewart Cobb was the first-born son of Richard and Hazel [Shay] Cobb, arriving on September 7, 1950. He grew up on their farm near Powassan ON, joined five and seven years later by his brothers, John and David. He became a true ?farm boy?, doing chores, cutting wood in the wood lot, cutting and raking hay. While going to school, he worked for various neighbouring farmers, most notably for his cousin Lloyd Byers. At age 15, he made a commitment to serve God, a choice he was true to until the end of his life. Upon completing Grade 12, he went to Shelburne ON to work for Carl and John Kidd on their farm.
In early October 1969, his buddy John Kidd persuaded him to go West with him, taking a half-ton truck load of apples to sell for gas money. Once in Saskatchewan, he began working for Don & Vern Sinclair on their farm at Fort Qu?Appelle. On his first trip to the city of Regina, he met Janice Leonhardt, a nursing student, and after their first date he decided she was the one he was looking for. They were married July 23, 1971 and resided in Regina where George had begun apprenticing as a plumber. Their four sons, Jeffrey, Jolan, Jayden and Justin were added to their household in the following eight years, as well as numerous boarders ? brothers, cousins and friends. After obtaining his journeyman?s papers, he then mentored his brother David and cousin Keith Byers while employed at Welldone Plumbing & Heating. Weekends were often spent traveling as a family to plumb at various friends? homes in Saskatchewan & Alberta.
In April 1980, George, Jan and boys moved to Theodore to take over Jan?s parents? farm which also included the privilege of hosting the annual Christian convention held in that yard since 1929. Farm life soon included a milk cow, chickens, turkeys, geese, pigs, horses and 2 llamas. George continued his plumbing trade, working it in around farm priorities. Camping was always a favourite holiday, and as the boys grew, goose & deer hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, quadding and cutting wood were frequent activities. When the boys left home, they returned most weekends with many friends in tow.
With boys gone, George and Jan sold their cattle and discontinued raising poultry, concentrating on their increased cropping operations. Later still, they rented out some of their land and enjoyed travelling more, often with good friends or their married sons & families, making more life-long memories and friends along the way. George was a skilled carpenter, crafting all their kitchen cabinets and an all-round diagnostician and fix-it man, be it mechanical, electrical or plumbing challenges. Throughout their 48 years of marriage, they worked seamlessly as a team of two, just like George?s daily peanut butter and margarine toast.
George had a sudden heart attack at the Theodore Town Hall on November 11, 2019 and passed away within hours in the Yorkton Health Centre. He leaves with many special fond memories his loving wife, Jan, sons Jeff [Jodi] and their daughters Merra & Nella of Fort Qu?Appelle, Jolan [Julie] and their daughters Megan & Rachel of Brooks AB, Jayden [Donna] and their sons Trae, Brett & Bryn of Fort Qu?Appelle, Justin [Candace] and their children Payton & Jayda of Peebles, brothers John [Anita] and David [Bonnie] and one uncle Jim Cobb as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jan?s parents Paul & Irene Leonhardt, his aunts & uncles [& their spouses] and nine cousins.
The family would like to acknowledge the tremendous outpouring of love and support shown to them. 2068 George Henry LaPlace entered the Gates of Heaven on July 20 at Middlesex Hospital. George was born December 29, 1944. He attended Vinal Tech and was a tool and die maker for the Lee Company for 31 years. George was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Essex. He was a caring, funny, and generous father, grandfather, and uncle. George is survived by his former wife, Eleanor Susan LaPlace, and his children and their spouses, George Curtis and Cathy LaPlace, Rachel and Daniel Patten, and Sandra LaPlace and Tim Williams, Jr. His grandchildren Hannah Patten and Lillie and Celeste LaPlace. His brother Milton LaPlace and sisters Eunice Tolx and Colleen Traynor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 10 Prospect Street, Essex at 7 p.m. on Monday July 25. 2069 George Henry Lucas, 61, well known business man of Estherville, died at his home at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. He had been ill for many months of cancer, failing rapidly in the last three weeks.
For 19 years Mrs. Lucas has been in business in Estherville, first in the dray and ice line, then for ten years in partnership with Grover McCall in a retail gas station on Howard street. Before coming to Estherville he had farmed near Wallingford.
Mr. Lucas was born at Ludden, Ill. on August 16, 1872.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2 o'clock from the home on South Ninth street, and at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian church. Rev. Alva Ragsdale of Eldora will be in charge assisted by Rev. M. A. Lowe, pastor of the church. Those to act as pall bearers are Chas. Dayton, Jake Hepp, Robert Knight, Lee Eveleth, W. V. Sweet and Fred Ehlers.
Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery with North Star Lodge A.F. and A.M. in charge of the last rites at the grave.
Mr. Lucas was one of Estherville's best known and most universally loved citizens. He was a good neighbor, always kindly and courteous, fair and honest in his business dealing and devoted to his wife and one child, Mrs. Herman Jensen.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge, the Eastern Star and the Knights of Pythias. He was an active and conscientious member of those groups and his daily life testifies to his effort to carry out his understanding of what was required of a Christian citizen.
His passing leaves a void that will be impossible to fill in his home and in the community.  		Lucas, George Henry (I23758)
 
2070 George John Randall, 88, Adams Center, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at Samaritan Summit Village where he had been a resident.
George was born on Feb. 22, 1932, the son to Ellis and Gertrude Eustis Randall. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1954 where he was stationed in Fort Dix, NJ, for his basic training. Following basic training, he was stationed in Munich, Germany for 18 months. In June 1956, he received an honorable discharge at Fort Ord, California.
He married Beatrice Ayerst on Oct. 6, 1956, at St. Patrick's Church, Watertown, with Rev. Lee Snow officiating.
George worked for Upstate Trucking from 1956-1957, Black Clawson, 1957-1958, he managed Lennox Trailer Park where he hauled trailers from 1958-1962. In 1962, he went to work at Queens Dairy Farms, Pierrepont Manor, retiring in 1994 from local #687.
He was a member of the Adams American Legion, Adams V.F.W, Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the St. Cecilia's Church.
George is survived by his wife, Beatrice, Adams Center; three sons, Kevin and companion Patricia Ruane, Commack; Steve and Denise, Adams Center; Christopher and Rebecca, Belleville; daughter, Tamera and Michael Alexander, Adams; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his 3 sisters, Dorothy Paddock, Avis Dusharm, Ruby Tacoma, a brother, Donald, nephew Robert Paddock, and his grandson, Garret Alexander.
George loved to drive truck, watch NASCAR, his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon, but most importantly he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

2071 George L. Edgerton, age 72, of Monroe, beloved husband of Elaine (Boscaini) Edgerton, and father of Elizabeth-Ann Edgerton, went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, after a short illness. Mr. Edgerton was born in Bridgeport on December 7, 1932, a son of the late Bryant Clinton and Lillian (Engvall) Edgerton. He was also predeceased by his step-mother Margaret Edgerton. He was born and raised in Stratford, and was a graduate of Stratford High School, Class of 1950. Mr. Edgerton served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 in the post World War II occupation of Germany. After his return home, Mr. Edgerton was active in his local VFW and was a leader of the Troopers Drum Corps before his marriage to Elaine. He was a 42 year resident of Monroe, during the 1970s, he was active in the Bridgeport Lions Club. Before his retirement, Mr. Edgerton owned and operated G.L. Edgerton Co., Inc., a duct cleaning business. After his retirement, he worked for John Mini Interior Landscaping. Mr. Edgerton loved railroads and was founder of the Connecticut "G" Scalers garden railroad club. His own garden railroad had been featured in several magazines and the New York Times. Mr. Edgerton is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Edgerton of Monroe; and by his devoted daughter, Elizabeth-Ann Edgerton of Monroe; a brother, Charles Edgerton Sr. of Lakeland, Fla.; his brothers-in-law and sisters in-law; Secondo and Dolores Gori of Bridgeport, Richard and Jeanette Coburn of Newtown, Dorothy Edgerton of Fairfield, Agnes Edgerton of Spring Hill, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bryant Clinton Edgarton II and Robert Edgerton Sr. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, in Monroe. 2072 George Langa, 61, of Wallingford, died on Sunday morning, (April 14, 2002) at MidState Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Latvia on September 8, 1940, the son of the late Kris and Anna Bergs Langa, he had resided in Wallingford most of his life. Mr. Langa had attended local schools and was a graduate of Meriden High School. He was employed by Wallace Silversmith Company of Wallingford for some 28 years, and more recently by Guest Company of Meriden. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, having served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Dowd of Meriden, and Kathryn and Pieter Visser of New Hartford; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Justine Langa of Wallingford; eight grandchildren, Jimmy and Christopher Dowd, Danielle, Kaytlyn, and Jessica Langa; Mike and Joey Dudley; and Pieter Visser; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Velta and George Ciunga of Smithtown, Long Island, NY and Mrs. Lucy Garnelis of Ellington; also by several nieces and nephews. 2073 George Louis Froeba, 82, husband of the late Rosanna Rich Froeba of Roanoke Rapids, N,C., passed away on July 3, 2014. He was born on June 14, 1932, in New Britain, Conn., son of George F. and Edith (Galpin) Froeba.
Survivors include his son, George E. Froeba and his girlfriend Norma Clemmons of Halifax N.C. Two grandchildren, Corena Bristow and Tanya Edmundson (husband-Christopher Edmundson) of Greenville, N.C. Three sisters, Bernice Froeba, Peg Murphey (husband-Frank Murphey) of New Britain, Conn., and Marion Plagemann of Madison, Conn. Nieces and Nephews-Frankie Murphey of New Britain, Conn., and April Kosier (husband-Mike Kosier and their children, Helen and Evelyn) of Delanson, N.Y., Linda Kornhi (husband-Mike) of Pleasant Hill, Ore., and Karl Plagemann of Guilford, Conn.
He was stationed in Germany in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Stanley Works with 35 years of service and moved to N.C. in 1989 to retire and be in the same place as his son and his son?s family. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in New Britain, Conn., and in Roanoke Rapids, as well as a member of the VFW and the AMVETS.

2074 George only went to grade 8 then worked as a guide on Lake Nipissing and in lumber camps. He went with brother Robert to Toronto to enlist in WWII and remembered that enlistees were billeted in the Horse Palace at CNE grounds.
George was taken on strength by the Lorne Scots of Canada and went with unit to England as a driver. While serving in England he was sent on a Dispatch Rider's course, where he drove BSA, Harley, Norton and Triumph motorcycles but liked Enfields. He remembered that outings were organized for troops and went on one to Windsor Castle..

2075 George Perry, a life long resident of Massena with the exception of a short time that he conducted a hotel in Canton, died at 26 Woodlawn Avenue about 10:45 o'clock Tuesday night.
Mr. Perry was born in Massena September 4, 1865, and worked out by the day until he grew to manhood. Later he conducted a farm and following that he went into the hotel business. About 42 years ago he married Miss Anna Demo.
Besides his wife, seven children survive. They are Mrs. Joseph King, 61 Liberty Avenue; Mrs. Ray Gemmill, 125 Main Street and Geneva, Pauline, Joseph, John and George at home. Three brothers also survive, Fred Perry, Massena Springs, Henry Perry, Squires Road and Samuel Perry, Worcester, MA.

2076 George Raymond ?Ray? Megenhardt, of Chester, MD, died on April 29, 2016, at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville. He was 78.
Born September 2, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James F. and Lorraine Weippert Megenhardt.
Ray grew up in Baltimore, graduating from Poly Tech High School. Soon after graduation, he began his career as a licensed plumber with Donald Miller. He married his wife, Katherine Kallas Megenhardt, in 1965, where they made their home in Chester. Ray later went to work for Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD, from where he retired. After retirement, Ray enjoyed the Eastern Shore life. He loved fishing, crabbing, golfing and wood working. He also was a member of St. Christopher?s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine Megenhardt; his daughter, Lauren Kazmarek (James) of Chester; his two grandchildren, Jason and James Kazmarek, Jr.; and his brother, Robert Megenhardt of Canada.

2077 GEORGE W. STEVENS ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. / Richmond ? George W. Stevens, 59, formerly of Richmond, passes away unexpectedly as a result of a motorcycle accident on Dec. 21, 2002, in Palm Beach, Fla.

George was born to Heman Henderson Stevens and Gladys Walton Stevens of Huntington on Sept. 27, 1943.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Casey Stevens of Richmond in February of 1985; his brother, Heman, of Florence, Mass.; and by his brothers, Donald and Richard, of Huntington.

He is survived by two brothers, Harold of Hardwick and Roger of Richmond; and three sisters, Dottie Blish and Rita Bradley of Huntington, and Gerry Hallock of Essex. He leaves numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

George is also survived by his children, Stephanie Stevens of San Diego, Calif., Jason Stevens of Dallas, Texas, and Casey (and Colleen Jackson) Stevens of Essex, and Colby (and Dawne Place) Stevens of Essex Junction. He is looking down upon his five grandchildren, Cody Jason and Cassandra June of Dallas, Jacob Taylor and Lauren Nancy of Essex Junction, and newborn Allison Lorraine Theresa, whom he was very excited to meet.

George served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman, spending some time in France, Germany, Belgium and Spain, among other places. After returning from service, he worked at Vermont Heating and Ventilating for a few years. He then owned and ran "Steve's Place", a restaurant and bar in Richmond from the late 70s to 80s, and then worked at Rossignol for a short time. Later, he was employed at IBM in Essex Junction as a facilities maintenance technician until the mid 90s. Although he always had plenty of fun at work, people would find themselves hard-pressed to remember George ever taking any sick time. He always believed that if you could make it to your feet, then you had no business calling yourself sick. He belonged to several fraternal organizations, including Patriot Lodg 33, F & AM, Hinesburg, the Elks and the VFW. From the late 90s, Geoge owned a camp on Lake Morey in Fairlee, where he loved to entertain since it was right on the water and only a short jaunt from the Lake Morey Country club. Although he loved motorcycling, swimming, playing horseshoes, shooting pool and occasionally going fishing, his three most favorite things after visiting with family and friends were golfing, playing cards, and picking on everyone relentlessly. He played in the World Championship of Poker in Las Vegas, and won trophies playing cards and golf locally. If there were awards for pushing people's buttons, nobody would have bothered holding a tournament, since George was a shoe-in. Not surprising, given his interests, George had an uncanny knack for numbers, and for reading people. Beneath his rough exterior was a heart of gold, but he'd fight tooth and nail to make sure only a select few ever found out. To say that George was quite a character is an enormous understatement; to those that knew him well, no explanation is necessary. to those that didn't, no explanation is possible. Among his accomplishments, though, what we are most proud of George for is the way he carried on and never gave up when his wife, Lorraine, passed away. It would have been easy to fold up, cave in, and make excuses, but he never did. He dug in deep, raised his kids, and made sure that they got through school. We know, by his example, that he would want us all to carry on the same way, in order to make him proud.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. in the Richmond Congregational Church. Burial will take place in the spring. Visiting hours are Friday, Dec. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot St., Richmond.

George served in the US Marines, was a retired Electrical Engineer with the Federal Aviation, and was a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church Arlington for forty-seven years. Mr. Bevelhymer was born in Napoleon, Ohio, on Aug. 25, 1905. He married Dorothy M. Cook, 1935. He was an entrepreneur.

2081 Gerald (Gerry) Thompson Butts, 89, of Swansboro died peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the N.C. State Veterans Home in Kinston, N.C.
Gerry grew up in Central N.Y. in the small township of Victory. While serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, he earned the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to design, build and operate "Butts Tree Movers" with his father, Jean G. Butts. It was the premier large tree moving business in the Eastern U.S.
Gerry met and married Shirley Hulbirt in 1947 and they resided in Victory, N.Y. He was a member of the Victory Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 40 years and their Fire Chief for many of those years. He was also very active in the nearby Cato Rotary Club.
After retiring and much traveling, Gerry and Shirley moved to Swansboro, N.C. in 1982. However, retirement was short lived as Gerry, at age 65, became a N.C. licensed EMT and volunteered hundreds of hours with the Swansboro EMS/Rescue Squad and Fire Department. He held the position of Chief and was recognized numerous times as Member of the Year in both organizations. He was the Fire Prevention Officer for the fire department for many years, teaching children how to be safe. Gerry was also an active member of the American Legion and Swansboro Methodist Men. His loving wife. Shirley. passed in 1996.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George and Linda Butts; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Franklin Cizerle; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Benne, Kathleen Bremer, Charise Nichols, Kirk Cizerle and Kim Cizerle; 9 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Ella, Cydney, Emerson, Jaxon, Ava, Carter and Eli; and his companion of many years, Evelyn P. Willis.

2082 Gerald ?Jerry? William Davis, 59, of Danbury, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 29, 2018, one day after celebrating his 59th birthday.
Jerry was born on January 28, 1959 in Minnesota to parents, Gerald L. and Mary E. (Smiley) Davis. He was a 1977 graduate of Webster High School. Jerry was a Slot Manager for the Danbury Casino for 21 years, until his retirement a few years ago. He married Kellie A. Allen on September 11, 2005 in Webster, WI. Jerry fondly nicknamed Kellie? ?Bundy?.
Jerry liked fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed driving around and taking in the scenery. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his daughters.

2083 Gerald Dale Arnold, age 88, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, April 13, 2022 at his home with his partner, Loretta Sanford, by his side. Jerry was born at home on September 16, 1933, the youngest son of eight children to Venus and Jennie (Culver) Arnold, Sr. He graduated from Greenville High School, class of 1951. Jerry married his first wife, Doris (Perry) Arnold Ruthruff, in 1952, the mother of his children. He joined the United States Army in 1953 and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky during basic training, then assigned to Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Upon discharge, he began working at Federal Mogul in Greenville, and retired from there in 1992. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings, Kathleen (Merrill) Howe, Kenneth (Mary/Gaye) Arnold, Edward (Esther) Arnold, Keitha Arnold, Venus Arnold, Jr., Ardith (Maurice) Lee, and Bonnie (Rex) Sutherland; nephews, Venus Arnold, David Arnold, and Douglas Sutherland; and niece, Tracie Gladding. He is survived by his longtime partner, Loretta; children, Kathy (John) VanderMyde, Kim Arnold (Linda Thiebeault), and Kevin Arnold (Mici Bos); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Arlene Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2022 at Hurst Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the funeral service. Rev. With broken hearts, our family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Gerald. Gerry passed away in his 79th year, with his loving family by his side on Thursday November 9th 2017 at the Arnprior District Memorial Hospital.
Gerry was a quiet man who loved his family and always ensured everyone was well taken care of. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He leaves behind his one true love of almost 61 years, Faye (nee Craig). Gerry was an amazing father to Marie, Michael and Doryann and predeceased by his parents, two infant children, as well as his granddaughters Amanda and Patricia, who were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven.
Gerald was an amazing Grampa to 11 grandchildren and great Grampa to 16.
Gerry was always whistling. Anyone can attest to this fact. You could always hear him coming, or know where he was just by that distinctive whistling. His favourite of course, was Oh Danny Boy. Gerry was a man of many trades, whether it be fixing cars, house renovations, or jimmy rigging something around the house so that it would work better than it did before. He was a man of many talents.
Gerry was kind, hard working and loving. He will be missed by so many.
As per Gerald's wishes, there will be no wake or funeral.
Thanks goes out to the staff and nurses at Arnprior District Memorial Hospital. Your kindness and compassion during Gerry's last few days got our family through. 2085 Gerald O. Dahlke of Mystic, CT died January 21, 2014 at Avalon Health Center in Mystic, CT. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 24, 1920 the son of the late Otto and Viola Leopold Dahlke, he was a Connecticut resident since 1954, living in Wethersfield prior to moving to Lyme in 1980 and Mystic in 2006. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Daphne Harding Dahlke, by their children Diane Dahlke and her husband Dale Denno, of Cumberland, Maine, Chip Dahlke and his wife Carol Adams Dahlke of Ashlawn Farm, Lyme, Connecticut, and Tom Dahlke of Bath, Maine. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, Jesse Denno, Evan Denno and his wife Kunsang Dolma, Gillian Dahlke and her fiancee Matt McNeil, Travis Dahlke, Alida Dahlke, Charlie Dahlke and James Dahlke. There are also two great grandchildren Tenny and Zoom Denno. He was predeceased by Tom's wife, Cynthia. During World War II, Jerry served as an Infantry Officer with the 10th Mountain Division in Texas and Italy. After his discharge in 1946 he married Daphne, a native of Lyme and previously in service with the U.S. Marines. He returned to Wisconsin with his bride, where he completed his education at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) receiving an MBA degree. He was a Certified Public Accountant in Appleton, Wisconsin as well as Hartford, CT and represented the Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. in sales for thirty five years. Since 1990 he was a partner with his son Chip as a financial consultant in Glastonbury until he retired in 2007.
There are no calling hours. Close friends and family will gather on Thursday, January 30, at 2:30 at the First Congregational Church of Lyme for a service and burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation, 12 Charter Oak Place, Hartford, CT 06106 or to an organization of the donor's choice. 2086 Gerald R. Hobbs, age 86, of Bath, NY, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Steuben Center in Bath, NY. He was born in Binghamton, NY September 6, 1931, the son of the late Leon and Mildred (Dann) Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs was an Air Force Veteran. He was retired from Philips Lighting in Bath, NY. He was a member of many local organizations and had a lifelong love of playing music.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Dickie) Hobbs of Bath; children, Patricia Bennett of Corning, NY, Jeannine (Jim) Prunoske of Sherburne, NY, JerriLyn Baker of Bath, NY and David (Kim) Hobbs of Bath; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, his brothers Richard Hobbs and Nelson Hobbs, sister Lois Gleason, brothers-in-law William Townsend and Robert Townsend, sister-in-law, Ferolyn (Ray) Swain and several nieces and nephews. 2088 Gertrude (Gertie) was born September 21, 1920 to Thomas and Bella McClay at Belmont, Manitoba. She passed away on November 13, 2013.
She received her education in a country school, "Mount Hope", and finished high school in the town of Belmont. On October 25th, 1941 she married John (Jack) Kenyon. They farmed until October of 1944 and then moving to Belmont to take over a trucking business. Gertie loved sports â?? playing softball, curling, 5-pin bowling, playing cards and dancing. Her life centered around her church; she taught Sunday School and was on several boards in Belmont, Rivers and Brandon. Church and her faith in Christ were important aspects of her life. In October 1952 the family moved to Rivers for 6 years and then to Brandon in November 1958.
Gertie was predeceased by an infant son in 1945, her father in 1968 and her mother in 1981. She also lost 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Ernest (1923), twin brother Murton (1943 during active service overseas), George (1962), Alvin (1996), Ellen (1992), Mary (2004) and Isabel (2006). Her husband Jack passed away December 28, 1991. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage. Sadly her 2 oldest sons passed away in 2010 â?? Larry in March and Jim in June.
On May 20, 1995 Gertie married Rae Reid and she gained an extended family of step-daughters Janice (John) Jones and Marlene (Tom) Carson, 4 step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Mom felt truly lucky and blessed to have these people in her life.
Gertie is survived by her husband Rae, her son Allen (Alys) of Winnipeg and daughter Joy (Alfred) Perro of Edmonton. She has five grandsons â?? Randy, Rick, Chris, Lance and Andy â?? and two granddaughters â?? Pam and Angela. She has 5 great grandsons and 6 great-granddaughters.
The family appreciates the care and kindness shown to Gertie during her time at Tuxedo Villa.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster.

2089 Gertrude C. Bardwell, 93, former Whately postmaster and formerly of 200 Chestnut Plain Road, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, in Overlook at Northampton.
She was born in South Hadley, Feb. 3, 1916, the daughter of George and Clara (Ryder) Haskell. Gert was educated in South Hadley schools and graduated from South Hadley High School. In early years, she worked in a South Hadley Laundromat. She later worked on a farm for Howard Waite.She was named Whately postmaster in 1959 and retired from that post in 1981.
Gertrude was married to Charles Bardwell on July 1, 1939 in South Hadley. They made their home in Whately. Charles predeceased her in 1991.
She was a member of the Ladies Benevolent Society, the Whately Grange 441, Whately Historical Society and was a member of the Whately Congregational Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by three nieces: Linda Kaiser and her husband Ward of Shelburne Falls, Gertrude Gimby of Haverhill and Betty Porter and her husband Warren of Southington, Conn.; three nephews, Wesley Dickinson and his wife Rosita of South Deerfield, Robert Haskell and his wife Alice of Cheshire, Conn., and Laurent Granger and his wife Vivian of Fairview; several grandnieces and gradnephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, John Haskell, and two sisters, Eleanor Granger and Dorothy Dickinson.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Whately Congregational Church with the Rev. Cynthia Crosson-Harrington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Whately Center Cemetery.
A calling hour at the church will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

2090 Gertrude Elizabeth Blankenship, 73, of Deale, died November 18 at her home.
She was born December 5, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Marie Catherine (Cavan) MacLeod Jr. Gertrude was raised and educated in Detroit. She was married to William Andes and later to William Blankenship, with both marriages ending in divorce.
Gertrude moved to the Vienna, VA area in the early 1970's and was employed as a cook at the Virginia Restaurant in Vienna until retiring in 2003. After retirement, she settled in Deale, where she especially enjoyed the company of her three dogs, Hayley, Hope and Halo.
Gertrude is survived by five children, Randy Andes of Monroe, MI, Vickie Browning and her husband, Dale, of Deale, William Andes of Sterling, VA, Eva Blankenship of Lusby, and Janice Moreland and her husband, Johnnie, of Deale; 13 grandchildren, Billy, James, John, Josh, Joey, Randy, Krystle, Amanda, Blain, Amanda, Kayla, Barbara and Lisa; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Joan Armstrong of Hopkinsville, KY; and one brother, James MacLeod, of Deale.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m., followed by a service and celebration of Gertrude's life at 8 p.m., on Wednesday, November 21, at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings.

2091 Gertrude Harding Emerson, of Lyme, died on March 31, 2013, at her home.
She was born on October 2, 1921, in Lyme, the daughter of Ray L. Harding and Helen Jewett Harding.
Trudy was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lyme for over 50 years. She was a self-described farmer, gardener, naturalist, and rowing enthusiast. She was a farm girl in Lyme who harvested ice on Rogers Lake, salt hay on Calves Island and drove livestock to fairs in Norwich. She drove tractors on the family farm when she couldn't reach the pedals and see at the same time. She could pick up baby deer and hand it over the stone wall to its mother. She often said she liked animals better than people and perhaps she meant it sometimes, but she was kind, considerate, generous and loyal to all of her family and many friends. She lived and let live and there was never an unkind word. She was a link to a bygone era that Lyme and the rest of us will never know again.
She is survived by her sister, Dafney Harding Dahlke, her husband Gerald O. Dahlke, and their children and spouses, Glenn Charles and Carol Adams Dahlke, Diane Dahlke and Dale J. Denno, Thomas Ray and Cynthia McKenzie Dalke and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James Ely Harding and Charles Jewett Harding. She was predeceased by her husband Fred L. Emerson, Jr. and survived by her stepchildren James Durward Emerson, Robin Eric Edward Emerson and Annabelle Emerson Brown, their spouses and children.
Special thanks must be given to Irene Corsino who made it possible with attentive and loving care for Trudy to remain at home until her death. With a dedicated staff, especially Sheila Bard, she made Trudy's wish come true.

2092 Gertrude M. Schultz, age 101, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 14, 1904. She married Leonard P. Schultz on September 14, 1927. They relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in March of 1944. She retired from St. Jospeh Hosiptal in 1970. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband and her eldest son, Eugene LaLonde. She is survived by three sons: Leonard, William and Robert; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Services will be on Saturday, June 3, 2006 with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. and funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Boulevard in Sun City, Arizona, 623-933-0161. Passed away peacefully at Strathmere Lodge on August 11, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in Detroit, Michigan on March 18, 1933, to George Dawson Smith and Agnes Watson Smith (nee Murray). She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Mervin "Menzie" Giles June 9, 2004. She was also predeceased by two sons, Menzie Bruce "Scott" Giles, 2011 and Andrew "Brent" Giles, 2015. She leaves behind two daughters "Deborah" Agnes Carey (Dennis), "Kathryn" Ann Cieslukowski (Wally) and one son Clifford "Bradley" Giles (Kim). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren Bruce (Nicole), Tara, Maighan, Shannon (Travis), Matthew (Rebecca), Justin and Ryan. Also four great-grandchildren Bronwyn, Scott, Roland and Malcolm left to morn her are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She leaves two brothers George (the late Rebecca) and Murray ( Patricia) and one sister Elizabeth (the late Orville Taylor). Predeceased by three sisters, Maude (1936), Dorothy (the late Delmer Paterson) and Helen (the late Elden Devlin). Cremation has taken place.

Ernest Clarence Giles
Long-time Almonte resident Ernest Clarence Giles died Aug 21 in the Almonte General Hospital at age 86. He was born in Fitzroy Township June 10, 1907 to the late Robert Giles and the late Jean MacArthur Giles. On April 24, 1929 he married the late Irene Marion Stewart MacGregor in Arnprior. A stationary engineer, Mr Giles lived most of his life in the Almonte and Renfrew areas. he was an elder with the Almonte Presbyterian Church. Mr Giles was a past master to the Royal Black Preceptory 639, Loyal Orange Lodge 378 and the Orange Young Britons 257. The Hope Street resident owned a 1906 Sawyer Massey steam engine which he exhibited at fairs around the area. Mr Giles is survived by sons Menzie of Ottawa and Elford of Almonte. daughter Irene Rath and sisters Mary Obrey, Laura Baird. Jean Sadler and Eleanor Carpenter. He was predeceased by son Ivan, brother Ivan and sister Florence Rae. Rev Grant Wilson led the funeral service at the C.R. Gamble Funeral Home Aug 24 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael, Ian, Brent, and Scott Giles and Rodney and Dale Rath.

Going the way he would want to go, in his sleep, while dreaming of the next wood project. Simard, 86, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, MA, and the longtime owner of Simard Advertising Specialties in Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, (September 21, 2012). He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 47 years, Eliza J. (Knight) Simard; his 10 loving children; his daughter-in-law; 18 cherished grandchildren; 17 cherished great-grandchildren; many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces; and several dear sisters-in-law of the Knight family.
