Rankin, Agnes Jean Vae (nee Harper) 1924 - 2017 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She peacefully entered into heaven in her sleep. We bow our heads today as a family to thank God for giving her 92 beautiful years to share her kindness, generosity, sincerity, stories, laughter and faith with everyone she touched. We are comforted in this time of sorrow by the everlasting love story she shared with her dear husband Ken, and we take solace in their happy reunion. They felt blessed by their children Heather (David), Blake (Eileen) and Steve (Kim) and former in-laws Monique and Patty; proud of their grandchildren Alison (Kevin), Kenneth, Jodi-Lyne, Brittany, Norah and Jamie and grateful for their great grand-children Joey and Lexi. Vae devoted many years of service to her community as a leader for Explorers and CGIT. She was a comforting presence delivering Meals on Wheels, and as a pillar in her congregation at St. Timothy?s Presbyterian; from the Afternoon Circle to World Day of Prayer celebrations. An adventurous farm girl from McDonalds Corners, Vae loved the daily joys of this life. We ask that you honour her memory by being grateful for these same joys, just as she taught us. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Sunday, February 19 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, February 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Timothy's Church, 2400 Alta Vista Drive, followed by a reception.
