BYERS, Thomas R. E. - A resident of Chatham, Thomas Richard Elwood Byers died surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at his residence a the age of 63. Born in North Bay, son of the late Levi and Agnes (McConnell) Byers. Beloved husband of Carolyn Rae (Jensen) Byers. Loving father of Jeff Byers and his fiancee Monica of Oshawa, Jason Byers and his wife Mindy of Georgia and Joel Byers and his wife Ramona of Alberta. Grandfather of Ben and Deanna. Brother of Gladys Masson, Wilda Byers, Violet Hazelwood, Wilburn Byers, Sam (Ethel) Byers, Gwen (Clarence) Hazelwood, Marjorie Trainer and predeceased by Evelyn Byers, Greta Bayliss and Andy Byers. Brother-in-law of the late
Tom Masson, Eric Hazelwood, Hector Bayliss and Isobel Byers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thomas retired from the MTO after more than 25 years of service. Funeral service was held October 18, 2007 in Chatham. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
