  Mabel Byers BYERS, Mabel Viola Peacefully at Cassellholme, North Bay, on Monday, January 7, 2002, in her 92nd year. Mabel Byers (nee McConnell) was predeceased by her husband John Alexander Byers (1902-1995). She was the beloved mother of Hilda Hersemeyer (Eugene), Lawrence Byers (Lila), Maurice Byers (Shirley) and Lyall Byers (Eunice), all of Callander; Mervin Byers (Ruth), Mattawa; Vivian McKee (Ranald), Thornloe; Margaret Watson (late Dan), Richmond, VA; Thelma Byers, North Bay and Victor Byers (Linda), Crystal Falls and the loving grandmother of 21 and great-grandmother of 20. She was the dear sister of Manson McConnell, Callander; Gertie Fryer (Norman), North Bay and Mary Grawbarger, Capreol. Mrs. Byers was predeceased by her sisters Queenie Dugan, Agnes Byers, Eva Grawbarger and Susan Grawbarger and by her brother Truman McConnell. The Byers family will receive friends at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan ( 724-2024 ) on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 10th at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
