    BYERS, William J.-At Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Monday, May 1, 1978, William J. Byers (formerly of Hay Ave., Mimico), beloved husband of the late Alma Hughes, dear father of Mrs. Jordan Johnson (Mona), of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Mr. Byers will be resting at the funeral home of G. H. Hogle, 63 Mimico Ave., Mimico, from Wednesday, 7 p.m. Funeral service Thursday 1.30 p.m. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens, Etobicoke.

    GRAND PRAIRIE, Alta. A former resident of Nipissing Village, William J. Byers died here April 29 after a lengthy illness. He was 77.
    Final tribute was paid Thursday at Mimico. Interment was at the Glen Dale Memorial Garden Cemetery in Etobicoke.
    Pallbearers were Norm Trainer and Austin, Sam, Tom, Mervin and Irvin Byers.
    Born June 25, 1900 at Nipissing Village, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Byers.
    Mr. Byers married Alma Hughes in 1933 and they later moved to Mimico. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jordan Johnston (Mona) of Grand Prairie and three grandchildren.
    Also surviving are five brothers and four sisters: Alex of Callander; Levi of North Bay; Enos of Powassan; Gordon of Powassan; Irvin of Callander; Mrs. Clinton Turcotte (Mary) of Shelbourne; Mrs. Arthur Radkey (Frances) of Cambridge; Mrs. Bert Johnston (Esther) of Callander, and Mrs. S. Grawbarger (Eliza) of North Bay.
