- GEORGE A. WALTON JAN. 25, 1920 JAN. 19, 2009 ANDERSON, S.C. George Alfred Walton, age 88, of 518 Richland Creek Road, Anderson, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at his residence. Born in Huntington, Vt., on Jan. 25, 1920, he was a son of the late Harold Henderson Walton and Sarah Hamner Walton. He was a retired contractor, a former Cub Scout Leader and Member of The Grange. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Elizabeth Bell Walton; sons, Harold Walton, George Walton Jr., Lance Walton, and stepson Donald Godsoe; daughters, Kathryn Palmer, Judith Gottshall, Terri Lynn Thibault, and stepdaughter Debbie Brookfield. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Huntington. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 300 E. Greenville St., Anderson, SC 29621.
