Notes |
- Paul was born in Sacramento County, California on December 28, 1944 to Irene and Richard Barton. After the War the Barton family moved to Portland, Oregon. Lived in Vanport, Oregon until the flood. The family moved and lived in the Rocky Butte area for many years. Paul graduated from Madison High School in 1963. After graduating from Portland Community College he was drafted into the Army at Fort Lewis. After a medical discharge he worked for Western Electric for several years. Hired at Techtronix in Beaverton, Oregon and worked there for nearly 20 years. After retiring in 2011 Paul and his beloved wife, Susan, moved to Arizona to enjoy the heat and many grandchildren.
His interests were varied from working on bicycles, musical instruments, metal & wood work, and Cars of course! Paul would tell stories of his first car to his most recent car from memory. Computers and hardware was a passion of his and he worked on CoCo Computers and Linux systems out of pure joy! He was part of a group of many who loved the CoCo Computers and regularly met online to discuss. Keeping his mind and hands busy was very important to him and always challenged himself to learn something new.
Paul and Sue married in 1987 and raised six children together. They were together always and would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary this December. Paul is survived by his loving wife Susan Ardell (Correll) Barton and six children, by blood are Rachael Anne, Heather Rae, Annette Marie and Caleb Dan, by marriage Shawna Marie and Angela Ruth. Sisters Marie Anita, Kane Taylor and brother Christopher John.
Memorial was held September 17, 2021 at Paul and Sue's Church, Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, AZ. Sister Kane Taylor of Portland, Or and brother Christoper John of Trenton, NJ were in attendance at Memorial along with other family and dear friends.
