In loving memory of Eric McConnel who died peacefully at his home in Little Current on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 76. Eric retired after working for 38 years for CPR. He loved word puzzles, fishing, deer hunting with his family and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was a member of the Little Current Fish and Game Club and the Manitoulin Hospital Auxiliary. Survived by his beloved wife of 56 years June (nee Cargill). Beloved father of Debbie Heise (Myron), Karen Cranston (John), Jeffrey, Martin (Carol) and infant Michael (predeceased). Loving grandfather of Jennifer Calvelli (Nick), Erin and Christopher Heise, Jonathan (Brooke) and Cole (Heather) Cranston, Cody and Brandon McConnell, and great-grandchildren Lauren and Myah Ferguson, Lucas and Danica Calvelli, Maddison Heise and baby Cranston. Predeceased by parents Alex and Mabel McConnell. Brother of Betty Lawson (George predeceased), Sidney McConnell (predeceased) (Donelda), Vern McConnell (predeceased) (Mona) and brother-in-law of Iris and Orvis Hunter, Sharon (predeceased) and Garnet Hunter, David and Carolyn Cargill. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation was 7-9 pm on Monday, January 10, 2011. Funeral Service was at 3 pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Island Funeral Home. Cremation.
