- Mrs George Peacock
Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 2nd, for Mrs Annie Peacock, beloved wife of the late George Peacock. She passed away in the Almonte General Hospital after a short illness in her 80th year. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The service was conducted by Mr Peter Zimmerman and Mr George Poole. Mrs Peacock was born in Darling Township, a daughter of Hugh Munro and Jennie Price. Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Wilbert of Carp; Everette and Nelson of Prince George, B.C.; Mrs Vernon Donaldson (Carolyn) Lanark; Mrs Alex McArthur (Annie) Ramsay; Mrs William Rhodey (Lena) Kitchener; Mrs Melville Wark (Muriel) Clayton. She was predeceased by two daughters (Jean) Mrs Wilbert Paterson, (Katherine) of Ramsay. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. One sister Mrs William McKirdy and two brothers, Ernie Munro of Ramsay and Jacob of Prince Albert, Sask. Pallbearers were Fred Toop, Alan Thompson, Gordon Thom, Clarence Hazelwood, Harold and John Munro.
