    • DAVIES - SYMINGTON

In St Paul's Anglican Church Almonte, on Saturday, June 5, 1965, Thelma Elaine Symington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Symington became the bride of Edwin Harvey Davies, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Harvey Davies of Toronto. Rev. H. Ploughman officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mr. Claude Thomson, Almonte, was organist. Soloist was Mr. J. S. Birchall, Manotick, uncle of the bride. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a floor-length, princess line gown of white silk faille, fashioned with elbow-length sleeves, cape train and hand embroidered in Alencon lace and tiny seed pearls. Her bouffant veil of tulle illusion was held in place by a crystal rose and pearl headdress. She carried a colonial nosegay of better-time roses with stephanotis, lily-of-the-valley and English ivy. At the top of the bouquet was pinned a removable miniature of the bride's bouquet which the bride threw and was caught by Miss Lesley Walker. Miss Nora Harris, Almonte was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Catherine Gallagher, Almonte, Miss Lesley Walker, Toronto and Miss Lorraine Birchall of the Manotick, cousin of the bride. They wore floor length gowns in bright red peau de soie and chantilly lace with white peau de soie bow headdress. They carried nosegays of white spray mums with touches of red roses and white satin streamers. Mr. Wayne Symington, Toronto, brother of the bride was best man. The ushers were Mr. Keith Barr, Almonte, cousin of the bride, Mr. Bill Dawes, Toronto and Mr. Donald Cook, Toronto. Following a reception at the Tartan Restaurant, Mr. and Mrs. Davies left on a wedding trip to Cape Cod. For travelling the bride wore a yellow and white shantung ensemble with white accessories and a corsage of yellow goldilock sweetheart roses. They will reside in Toronto.
