- George Daniel Stewart, a resident of Ramsay township, died at Almonte General Hospital of Jan 11, 1983 after a lengthy illness. He was 75. Born on March 25, 1907, the son of the late James Stewart and Catherine Munro, he was educated at SS No 6, Ramsay, and married Isabel Lawson and March 29, 1934 at Cedar Hill, who survives him. He worked as a farmer in Lanark county all of his life. Mr Stewart is survived by sons James of Pakenham township, Daniel at home, and daughters Doris (Mrs Ellard Peever) of Cobden, and Mary of Ottawa. He is also survived by brothers Robert, Malcolm and William of Almonte. he is predeceased by one son Elmer. Funeral service was held at the Kerry Funeral Home on Jan 13 at 11 am, the Rev Jack Lougheed officiating. Burial was at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jack Penman, Donald Munro, Glen Lawson, Robert Cochran, Robert Gunn and Donald Stewart.
