| Laura Nisbe Mrs. David James Nisbet
A host of friends and relatives were saddened at the sudden passing of Mrs. David Nisbet on Sunday, May 13th. While calling on friends in Elphin village, she suffered a heart seizure and passed away en route to Perth hospital.
The former Laura Munro was b0rn in North Sherbrooke Township in 1892, the eldest of the family of the late William John Munro and his wife, Mary Rutherford. On September 3, 1918, she married David J. Nisbet and went to live on the Nisbet homestead near Elphin, where she resided until her husband's death in 1954.
Possessed of a warm and friendly personality, her interests included church and community work She was a devoted member of the W.M.S. for many years. Her hobby was her beautiful flowers which she delighted in sharing with her friends.
She leaves to mourn the loss of loving mother, a daughter (Margaret) Mrs. A. B. Rankin, and a son, Murray, both of Ottawa, also two grandchildren, David and Brenda Nisbet. A son, Cecil, died in 1945. Two brothers also survive, William Munro of Boyds, Guy of Pontiac, Mich. and a sister, Mrs. Ceet Huttir of Innisville, with whom she has resided for several years.
The funeral, which was largely attended, took place on Tuesday from the Jackson Funeral Homs, McDonald's Corners, to Elphin Presbyterian
Church where Rev P I Murley brought a comforting message the bereaved family. The choir sang as _________, 'Beyond the Sunset', a particular favourite of the deceased.
The pallbearers were Kenneth Munro, ___ ________, John Rutherford, John ________, Ted ________, and _____ _________.
Those carrying flowers Forrest Miller, Robert Ferguson, _______ ________, William Dowdall and Archie McDougall.
The most beautiful floral tribute and Memorial Gifts testify to the esteem in which she was held by all who know her.
