- Truman Pennock was the father of ten children who all lived in Markham Township,Upper Canada (Ontario.) He was born in Strafford, Vermont the son of Ira and Molly Pennock, and married Catherine Badgero, while still living in the US. Another branch of the Vermont Pennock family settled in eastern Ontario in the late 1700s.
Land records show they lived in Riga Township, New York state, before 1821. By 1823, Truman Pennock and his wife and children were living in Markham Township, Upper Canada. Truman was born in Strafford, Vt., in 1787. Catherine was born in upper NY state. Children born in NY were William, Diana, and Trueman.
