  Raymond's biological parents were Clarence Cathwood Miner and Priscilla Hanna. Shortly after the death of his mother Priscilla in 1909, Raymond went to live with his aunt and uncle, Emily (Hanna) and George Fielding. By the time of the 1920 US Census, Raymond had taken the name of Fielding.
