- Evelyn (Chapman) Miner, of East Hampton, beloved wife of the late William H. Miner, passed away Friday (Dec. 2, 2005) at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Marlborough, daughter of the late John and Maude (Bownes) Chapman and had resided in East Hampton for 20 years having formerly lived in Marlborough for many years. Before her retirement she was employed at Thatcher's Drug Store, East Hampton. Also, Evelyn was a cook at the Mary Hall School Marlborough and was the first cook at RHAM High School, Hebron. She was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose Women's Auxiliary #1257, Marlborough, a charter member of Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Marlborough Board of Education when Mary Hall School was built, a member of East Hampton Seniors, member of Kings Daughters and Sons. She was a former active member of the Congregational Church of Marlborough, a member of Cornelia Field Circle of the Congregational Church of East Hampton and was formerly active in the Cub Scouts. Evelyn will be remembered for being a loving mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by three sons, Robert G. Miner and his wife Sally of Cobalt, Warren H. Miner of Citrus Springs, FL, and David W. Miner Sr. and his wife Theresa of East Hampton; a daughter, Barbara M. Richards of Holiday, FL; nine grandchildren, David W. Miner Jr., Stephen S. Miner, Lynda D. Miner, Mark W. Miner, Susan M. Miner, Marla J. Miner, Robyn Miner, Robert M. Miner and Darlene Petrantoni; 15 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers, Ida J. Anderson, Beulah Scholl, Albert, Lloyd, Robert and Arthur Chapman. Friends are invited to call at the Congregational Church of East Hampton Wednesday 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11 a.m. The Reverend Thomas Kennedy will officiate and burial will follow in Marlboro Cemeter
