| John E. Allard John E. Allard
A resident of Callander for the past 30 years, John Edward Allard, died Friday in hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 69 and had formerly resided at Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Kiosk and Powassan.
Friends may pay their respects at the Martyn Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday and Captain Glenn Patrick of the Salvation Army will conduct the funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Callander Union Cemetery.
Born Jan. 7, 1903, at Plantagine (near Glengarry) Mr. Allard was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allard of Powassan. He served in the Canadian Army during World War II. In 1930 Mr. Allard was married to the former Marion LeRoy at North Bay. His wife survives.
He is also survived by two brothers, Charles of Powassan and James of North Bay, and two sisters, Mrs. Victorine Attilia of Mattawa and Mrs. T. Shannon (Grace) of North Bay. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.
