- Mrs. Ida Platt Banning, 94, of Chestnut Street, Ivoryton, widow of William Otis Banning, died Tuesday in Meadowbrook Convalescent Home in Middetown after a long illness. Born in Westbrook, she lived in Ivoryton the last 73 years. She was a member of the Westbrook Congregational Church.
She leaves two sons; Everett Banning and Fred Banning, both of Ivoryton; and two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Riggio and Mrs. Harold Duffy, both of Ivoryton; seven grandchildren. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Cypress Cemetery, Westbrook. There are no calling hours. Robinson and Wright Funeral Home, Main Street, Centerbrook, is making the arrangements.
