- BANNING, Everett William Sr. 81, of Melody Lane, Ivoryton died Saturday February 4. Husband of Hazel Dee Banning. He was born April 23, 1902, in Westbrook, son of the late William and Ida Platt Banning, and was a resident of Ivoryton most of his life. He was a retired plumbing and heating contractor. He was a chartered member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks #1784.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mrs. Richard (Delores) Budney of Ivoryton; a brother, Fred Banning if Ivoryton; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Riggio and Mrs. Ida Duffy, both of Ivoryton; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Everett Banning Jr.
The funeral will be Wednesday, 11 A.M. at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. Burial will be in Centerbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today 7 to 9 P.M. The Elks Service will be today at 7:30 P.M. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Homemaker Home Health Aid Service, 41 Church Road, Clinton 06413.
