- Marshall D. Abbey, 94, of Old Coach Rd., East Hampton, beloved husband of the late Jennie (Alessi) Abbey, passed away Thursday, (September 18, 2003) at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown. He was born in East Hampton, August 25, 1909, son of the late James L. and Ethel Mae (Wright) Abbey and had resided in East Hampton all his life. Before his retirement he was employed by AMA Construction Co., Middletown. Also, he worked at Bevin Brothers Mfg. Co., and the former N.M. Hill Brass Co., East Hampton. Marshall was a descendant of the Wright family, one of the earliest families to settle in East Hampton. He was a member of East Hampton Seniors. He is survived by three daughters, Janet M. Cook of East Hampton, Marsha E. Fazzino of Portland, Arleen P. McArthur of East Hampton; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven sisters. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Hampton. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 10-11 a.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to East Hampton Ambulance Association.
