| Eleanor Tobin Eleanor Mahan Tobin
Wife of the late Dr. John E. Tobin, Jr., died peacefully at home on March 21, 2007. Eleanor, the daughter of Dr. Eugene and Alma Meherin Mahan, was a native and life-long resident of San Francisco. She will be missed by her children, Michael (Annie) Tobin, Eleanor (Jerome) Raggett, Cathleen (Thomas) Miller, Mark (Carol) Tobin, Jean (Edward) Villalva, Ann (David) McInnes, Sheila (Owen) McKannay and Lisa Tobin; her 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Mavis Mahan Cain of San Rafael, Jean Mahan (Nelson C. Sr.) Barry of Larkspur; and 12 nieces and nephews. Born in 1918, Eleanor attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco and graduated from UC Berkeley. She was dedicated to her husband, her family and her community. Eleanor particularly enjoyed her associations with her Pi Phi sisters and her time golfing and playing bridge at the Presidio Golf Club. Friends and relatives are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's Church, Bush and Steiner Streets, on March 27th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Dominic Building Fund or the Convent of the Sacred Heart-Tobin Scholarship Fund. |
