- Marietta Carr Glascock, 72, died October 15, 2004 in her home. Mrs. Glascock was a 1953 graduate of Westhampton College and was South Hampton Roads' first Reach to Recovery volunteer. Her successful catering business warmed the homes of many and delighted the palates of all who experienced her divine cuisine. Her wonderful mothering and grandparenting will be missed greatly by us all. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Elia P. Fontecchio of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., and Mary Todd Glascock and her husband, Lionel Charuau of Virginia Beach; her beloved grandsons, Henri Miles Charuau and Elia Ayerst Fontecchio. Other survivors include her mother, Natalie Ayerst Carr of Virginia Beach; her sister, Mrs. Thomas Cowgill Matthews of Wilson, N.C.; her brother, Dr. Albert Carr and his wife, Nancy of Augusta, Ga. Mrs. Glascock was predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Glascock Stetson; her son-in-law, Elia Paietta Fontecchio; her brother, Douglas Reed Carr; and her father, Albert Carr. A memorial service will be held Monday October 18, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Simon's Episcopal Church, 308 Sandbridge Road, Virginia Beach 23456, by the Rev. William Starkey. The parking lot for the church is located behind the church. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Simon's Episcopal Church or the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. H.D.Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, are handling arrangements.
