| Gilles Simard Gilles O. Simard, 86, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, MA, and the longtime owner of Simard Advertising Specialties in Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, (September 21, 2012). He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 47 years, Eliza J. (Knight) Simard; his 10 loving children; his daughter-in-law; 18 cherished grandchildren; 17 cherished great-grandchildren; many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces; and several dear sisters-in-law of the Knight family. His relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. His burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family at Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington, VT. His family has requested memorial donations to be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 |
