Notes |
- Janet Rygh (nee Craig) was born January 14, 1920, in Augusta, Kansas, USA. When she was 15 months old, she moved with her parents and two older brothers to the Aylesbury, Saskatchewan area. Her response to God’s touch on her young heart in 1931 brought peace and contentment throughout her life. She worked for Flemings in Regina for a short time in 1946 and that summer she responded to a need in the Thompson home at Bredenbury, where she helped until the end of that year. In 1947 she returned to Regina, where she worked until the spring of 1961. After marrying Martin Rygh, she moved to the farm northeast of Windthorst. Martin and Janet retired in 1971 and moved to Kipling in November of that year. After Martin’s passing in July 1983, Janet continued to keep her garden and a hospitable home until August 2005. After spending a short time in Rudyard Manor, she cheerfully accepted a move to Broadview House in May 2007, a change that was necessary due to failing health. A few months later, in November 2007, she returned to Kipling where she appreciated the care she received at Willowdale Lodge until her passing. She was predeceased by her father Tom in 1947, her mother Laurinda in 1965, her husband Martin in 1983, sister-in-law Essie Craig in 1987, sister Elizabeth Fife in 1993, brother-in-law Tommy Fife in 1996, sister-in-law Ali Craig in 2002, brother Stanley Craig in 2007, and brother Dick Craig in 2008. Remaining now with just memories of Janet are: brother David (Margaret) Craig of Barrie, Ontario; niece Laurinda (Barry) Rickman of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; nephew Gilbert (Dorothy) Fife of Swift Current, Saskatchewan; and nephew Lowell (Anita) Fife of Belleville, Ontario; extended family on the Craig and Rygh sides; and many special friends. Funeral Service will be held at the Windthorst Community Recreation Center, Windthorst, SK on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Windthorst Cemetery.
