    The Auld Kirk was constructed in 1836 and used until 1864, when a new church, St. Andrew's, was built in Almonte.

    • Mrs. L.K. Comba
      The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, Sept. 29th, of Mrs L.K. Comba from the funeral home of Mr. George L. Comba to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev H.C. Wolfraim of Bethany United Church. Mrs. Comba died at her home in Stratford on Tuesday, Sept 27, following a lengthy illness. She was the former Laura Gray and was born in Almonte a daughter of the late William L. Gray and his wife Phoebe Good. She went to school here and worked in town until her marriage in July of 1926 to Mr. Comba. He was a printer who learned his trade in the Gazette office and the couple lived in Goderich for several years before removing to Stratford 20 years ago. Mrs Coma leaves her mother who resides with Mr. Comba in Stratford, and two brothers, Lionel B Gray of Byng Inlet and Ross at London, Ont.
