- Mr. Morris D. "Papa" Monette, 69, of the Duquette Road, Beekmantown, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on a farm in Ellenburg, N.Y. on July 1, 1937, the son of Donald and Elsie (Clark) Monette.
Morris had been a truck driver for W. A. Bushey Trucking for many years. He enjoyed hauling cars, collecting and scraping cars, helping people, but most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
Morris was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Elsie Monette; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline Worley White; and a grandson, Brian Glennon.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara (Goodrich) Monette, of Beekmantown; their children, Carl Monette and his wife Missey of Plattsburgh, Lori Manor and her husband David of Altona, Debbie Fritz and her companion Jack Harris of West Chazy, Tina Monette of Beekmantown, Chuck Worley and girlfriend Tina of West Chazy, Mark Monette and his wife Bev of Chazy, Shon Worley and his fiancé Heather Harvey of Beekmantown; his brothers, Irvin Monette and his wife Bev of Chateaugay, Maynard Monette and his companion Carol of Ellenburg; his sisters, Pearl Provost and her companion Sonny Parent of Plattsburgh, Shirley Cole and her husband Bill of Churubusco, Betty Danussi and her husband Steve of Ellenburg, Judy Wilder and her husband Jerry of Malone; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Plattsburgh.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Thomas of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
