- Miss Delia Wardner, aged 85 years, passed away April 12, 1939, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Julia Case, near Townsendville. She was born December 19, 1853, at Covert, N.Y., the daughter of Rev. C. Wardner. After the death of her parents, she made her home with her brother, William, and later with the nieces. With the exception of a few years her entire life was spent in this vicinity. In 1875 she united with the North Hector Baptist Church, and her devotion and faithfulness will linger on in the hearts of her friends. Funeral services were held in the Valois Community Church on Friday at 2 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.A. Gates. Burial in Valois on the family plot. She leaves two nieces, Mrs. Julia Case and Mrs. Vesta Beckwith.
