| Donald Stevens DONALD W. STEVENS SR. HUNTINGTON -- Donald W. Stevens Sr., 70, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 23, 2000, in Fletcher Allen Health Care.
He was born in Albany, N.Y., on Oct. 1, 1929, the son of Heman and Gladys [Walton] Stevens.
Aug. 4, 1950, he married Margaret G. Burbo in Huntington.
Donald was employed as a truck driver for the town of South Burlington for more than 20 years. He retired in 1992.
Donald was an avid reader. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 19 of Bristol and the Chittenden County Fish and Game Club.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret "Maggie" Stevens of Huntington; their three children and their spouses, Donna and Ernest Burritt of Richmond, Joyce and Gerald McEntee of Burlington, and Donald Jr. and Kimberly of Enosburg Falls; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at 11 a.m. in Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot St., Richmond. Visiting hours are at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 74, Huntington, Vt. 05462.
