Suddenly at Toronto, March 17, 1981, Lilian Thorley, beloved wife of the late George H. Clark, formerly of 403 Princess Street West, North Bay, dear mother of Roy and Georgina, both of Toronto, will be sadly missed by two granddaughters. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wyld St., Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in St. Bride's Anglican Church, 1225 Cassells Street, Saturday, March 21, 1981 at 11 a.m. The Venerable Archdeacon D. A. P. Smith officiating. Spring interment St. John's Cemetery.

- Lilian Thorley was born 03 May 1920 in Miles Platting, a suburb of Manchester in England. She worked for the heavy engineering firm of Mather & Platt, Park Works, Newton Heath. She had papers in welding and paint spraying and remembered painting assemblies for tanks and wings for Spitfires. She married George Harvey Clark on 25 July, 1945 at St. Luke's Parish Church in Miles Platting. She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 on the Aquitania and then by rail to North Bay. Lilian passed away 17 Mar 1981 and was interred at St John's Anglican Cemetery in North Bay.
