- Funeral service for Mike Sterns, age 83, of Atkinson, Oct. 8, in the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church of Atkinson with burial in the St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery. He passed away Oct. 4, in the Good Samaritan Center of Atkinson. Survivors include his wife Rose Sterns of Atkinson; children Jo Olson and husband Doug of Atkinson, Ross Schochenmaier and wife Jan of Aberdeen, S.D., and Todd Sterns and wife Brenda of McCool Junction; daughter-in-law Dorene Talley of Rapid City, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Velma Miller of Fort Worth, Texas; brother Bernard Sterns of Atkinson; and several nieces.
