- Nondus Budge Shea, 84, passed away March 17, 2005 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications of Alzheimer's. She was born April 8, 1920 in Brigham City, Utah to Preston and Irene Holmes Budge. She graduated from South High in 1938 where she was the first chair violinist in the orchestra. She graduated from LDS Business College in 1940. She married Richard D. Shea February 14, 1942 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Relief Society president, Primary president, and Jr. Sunday School coordinator. She had a lifelong testimony and devotion to the church. Nondus loved to read, do needle work, cook and garden, and was the consummate hostess. She was an expert consultant for Home Interiors which was reflected in the beauty of her home. She was the heart of our family.
Nondus is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; daughter, Patricia (Jorge) Casillas; daughter-in-law, Sandy Shea; son, Michael (Deena) Shea; sister, Arlene Johnson; brother, Brent (Carol) Budge; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one expected great great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy; son, Richard; and great-granddaughter, Haley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday March 23, 2005 at the Ensign 2nd Ward Chapel, 135 A St., Salt Lake City. Friends may call Tuesday March 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., and Wednesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
Interment, Lakeview Memorial Estates.
