- E. Marie Coxon, 89, of Homer, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Oaklawn Hospital.
Mrs. Coxon was born August 20, 1916, in Albion, to Lyle Day and Edythe L. Wilson (Pennock) Bostwick. She married Edward DeVere Coxon May 7, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Mrs Coxon was a licensed practical nurse for Albion Community Hospital, working in the intensive care unit. She also worked at Lakeview Hospital before retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Coxon enjoyed gardening, crocheting, birds and the outdoors. She spent most of her life in the Homer and Battle Creek areas.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Marie (Roger) Leonard of Battle?Creek and Ruth Ann (Doug) Warner of Homer; special friends Mike and Carol Moss of Marshall; a sister, Betty Rogers of Oregon; and eight grandchildren, Rachele Beyerlein, Brent Leonard, Brad Leonard, Bart Leonard, Brian Warner, Dusty Warner, Diane Bishop and Christine Miller.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Coxon was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and George; and a great-grandson.
Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home in Albion, and from noon until 1 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at the Albion Free Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at the church, with the Rev. Ralph Bramley officiating.
Interment will follow at Spring Arbor Cemetery.
