- Lloyd George Brunt, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Battle Creek Health System. He was born January 14, 1924 in Battle Creek the son of George William and Mildred Mable (Holden) Brunt. He married Nellie May McLintock on March 1946 in Dowling and she preceded him in death on January 20, 1996. Lloyd served in the Army during World War II as a Tech 5. He worked for Ralston Purina as a machinist for 44 years retiring in 1986 and he also worked at the American March Pump in Battle Creek. He was a member of the Union Local 66 Grain Millers and VFW Augusta Post. Lloyd attended Eagle Grade School, Johnstown Country School and Hastings High School. He loved history and politics. Lloyd attended Lakeside Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team. Lloyd also loved country western music. He is survived by his son, David Lloyd (Anne) Brunt of Dowling; daughter, Beverly Baker of Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sister, Myrtie O. Woods of Battle Creek; very dearest friend, Georgia Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bert J. Brunt. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Friday from 2- 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Hendershot and Pastor Philip Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice Care of Barry County.
