- Josephine Pennock, 87, passed away at 1:58 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Delmar Gardens of O?Fallon in O?Fallon, MO. She was born in on August 7, 1923 in Barry, IL, the daughter of Jonathan Henry and Jane Belle (Powers) Sackett. She married Lyndle Arthur Pennock on September 25, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. He passed away in July 1, 1974 Josephine was a nurse at Anna Henry Nursing Home in Edwardsville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bethalto. She enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, flowers and gardening.
She is survived by a her four daughters and her sons-in-law, Janice K.(Scott)Peters of Warrenton, MO, Linda J. Mundy of Orlando, FL, Norma J.(Richard) Ussery of Macomb, IL and Dianna J.(Ray) Bisher of St. Louis, MO; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Bryon and Darlene Sackett of Godfrey and Glen and Violet Sackett of Alton; a sister Mary Louisa Carr of Alton and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Daniel Sackett.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until a funeral service at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Disabled Veterans.
