- Rosa Mae Daniels, 85 of Pittsfield, IL passed away, Friday, April 06, 2012 at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry, IL. Rosa was born April 05, 1927 in Pittsfield, IL, a daughter to John A. and Mabel Helm Pennock. She married Robert O. Daniels on September 08, 1945 in Pittsfield and he survives.
At the age of 14, Rosa worked as a waitress to put herself through school. She then worked for the Brown Shoe Company in Pittsfield, IL for thirty-two years and was a loving day care provider for thirty plus years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield and enjoyed reading, cooking, music, vegetable and flower gardening. She greatly loved her children, grandchildren and her Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and the family dinners.
Rosa is survived by her husband Robert, sons, Bruce (Judi) Daniels of Brownsburg, IN; Kent (Kim) Daniels of Virginia, IL and daughters, Sue (Donald) Willard of Pittsfield; Kathryn (Richard) Kindle of Pittsfield; Lisa Bigley of Pittsfield; Mary Beth (George) Stearns of New Salem, IL; Cynthia Jo (Phillip) Hoover of Pittsfield and a foster daughter, Judy Davis Bright. Twenty nine grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren survive along with a daughter-in-law Mary (Don) Godwin of Ankeny, IA and a sister, Dorothy Meece of Petersburg, IL.
Rosa was preceded in death by a son, David L. Daniels, two brothers, Stanley and Lyndle Pennock and a sister, Mary Freeman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield with Pastor Bill Herald officiating. Interment will be in the Pittsfield West Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
