- Lloyd Miller, 73, of Detroit, Ill., died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at his residence in Detroit. He was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Pleasant Hill, a son of William I. and Mary Ellen Lee Miller. He married Lois Reel Pennock on May 21, 1983, at the Detroit Methodist Church.
He attended Prairie Mound grade school and was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School in 1955. Lloyd was a custodian and did maintenance work at Pittsfield Elementary South School, Pillsbury Elevator in Florence and was a farmhand for Terry Rush of Detroit. He was a member of the Detroit United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling, attending country music shows, vacations and photography. His constant companions were his pet dogs, Tiny Tim and Tiny Babe.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; three sons, Roger (Brenda) Pennock, Gary Pennock and Jerry (Wanda) Pennock, all of Detroit, Ill.; and two daughters, Mrs. Marcia (Kay) Dehart of Pittsfield and Mrs. Nancy (Dick) Lomelino of Detroit, Ill. Twelve grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren along two brothers and three sisters, Wayne Miller of Quincy, Gerald (Ruth Ann) Miller of Jacksonville, Loretta Hartsock of Pleasant Hill, Betty Owens of Osage Beach, Mo., and Virginia Martin of Pittsfield also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Fred and Oral Miller; one sister, Geretta Slamp; and one granddaughter.
Services were entrusted to Niebur Funeral Home of Pittsfield, Illinois.
