- Beverly J. Littleton, 61, of rural Pittsfield, died Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2011) at her residence.
Bev was born July 3, 1949, in Pittsfield, a daughter of Lyndle and Helen Beasley James. She married Everett Pennock Aug. 3, 1973. He died July 3, 1995. Bev and Alvin J. Littleton were married July 23, 1998, and he survives.
Bev was a member of Pittsfield First Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a graduate of John Wood Community College and Blessing Rieman School of Nursing, earning her LPN degree. She had been employed at the state of Illinois' Jacksonville Developmental Center and previously worked at Illini Community Hospital, Hannibal (Mo.) Regional Hospital and local nursing homes.
She enjoyed working part-time at Dora's House of Flowers and Stollard's Flowers and Gifts. In earlier years, she was employed at Fashion Lane in Pittsfield. Bev enjoyed coffee at the Cardinal Inn, shopping, and gardening around the house, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and family. They were the first and foremost in her life.
Bev is survived by her husband, Alvin; three sons, John (Lisa) Pennock, Reggie (Kimberly) Pennock, and Jamie (Brandi) Pennock, all of Pittsfield; six stepchildren, Mark (Cindy) Littleton of Chapin, Greg (Cathy) Littleton of Jacksonville, Roger (Brenda) Pennock, Jerry Dale (Wanda) Pennock, Marcia (Kay) Dehart, and Nancy (Dick) Lomolino, all of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; several stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Butler of Mahomet.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Linda Ballinger; a stepson, Gary Pennock; and a brother-in-law, Paul Butler.
