- Madeleine Garrison Pennock, age 89, of Greensburg, Indiana, formerly of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 5:25 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14,, 2015 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg, Indiana. She was born on November 17, 1925 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Sylvester and Laura (Brown) Garrison. She married Harold H. Pennock, Jr. on August 17, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2000.
Mrs. Pennock is survived by her sons, Harold H. Pennock III of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, David Pennock and wife Norma of Miami, Ohio and Thomas Pennock and wife Brenda of Columbus, Indiana, daughter, Laura Pennock of Boston, Massachusetts, grandchildren, Helen Pennock, Madeleine Pennock, Emily Wooters and husband Zach, Grace Pennock, Joe Pennock and wife Taylor and Katie Pennock and great-grandchildren, Carson Wooters, Holden Wooters, Charlotte Wooters, Isabella Pennock and Jude Pennock.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Mrs. Pennock was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy Garrison and sister, Lucita Copple.
Mrs. Pennock was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centralia, Illinois, where she was a member of the Joy Circle. She loved to read and attended numerous book clubs. She was a great supporter of the Centralia Public Library. Mrs. Pennock was a friend to all animals and always had them around her. She enjoyed playing Bridge and belonged to many Bridge clubs. She cherished the time she spent with her family especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pennock was employed as pre-school teacher for Cecile Amason's Pre-School in Centralia, Illinois for many years. She has lived her whole life in Centralia, Illinois except for the last 2 years in Greensburg, Indiana.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois. There will be no public visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Pennock?s memory to the Centralia Public Library and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
