Notes |
- Rita Doreen Meunier (née Paul) December 14, 1929 ? March 30, 2019 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Passed away peacefully at the Montfort hospital, surrounded with love, at the age of 89. She is survived by her loving husband Jack and children, Jean Paul (Nicole), Jeannette (Michel Verdon) and Louise (Andre Seguin); grandchildren Tania (Remi Gauvreau), Josee (Jonathan Raymond), Natalie (James Chu), Mélanie (Michael Dean) and Stephanie (Basim Muzib); great-grandchildren Félix, Cédric, Jack, Vimy and Lindy and her sisters, Isabel and Gail. Predeceased by her granddaughter Lora; her parents Mildred and Napoleon Paul, her sisters Clara, Rose, Eileen, Yvonne, Irene, Patricia; her brothers Emmett and Sonny (Willis). Rita grew up feisty and strong and kept us all laughing into tears with stories of her life. Her compassion and care for those around her are a comforting memory alongside her tolerance for the animals that have wormed their way into her heart as she lovingly devoted her life to her family. We will always remember her tear filled eyes as she laughed while recounting stories, her tenacity at the bingo halls and her giving spirit whenever you were in need. We will miss her with all our hearts. Many thanks to the staff at the Montfort Hospital for their excellent care. Although Rita loved to tell her stories and gather with family and friends, per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private gathering for immediate family members will be held at a later date to celebrate her life. We all know how much Rita loved her garden and garage sales, so all who wish to honour her life are invited to plant some geraniums and tour the garage sales this spring with her in mind. If desired, donations in Rita's memory may be made to The Montfort Hospital Foundation, or to a Foundation of your choice.
