Learn Daughter Died Monday
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ward, of this city, have received word of the death of their daughter, Mrs. Gertrude L. Sherman, age 38 of Oakland, California, which occurred at that place Monday.
Survivors beside the parents: the husband and a baby son ten days old; a daughter, Miss Nora Bangle, at home, and a son Arthur T. (P.) Bangle of Camp Atterbury, by a former marriage.
A brother of Mrs. Sherman and a son of the Ward's, Arthur C. Ward was killed in action in Luxenbourg, Germany on December 26, 1944.
No definite funeral arrangements have been made.

Remains Will be Interred Here
The body of Mrs. Gertrude Sherman, wife of Wilson Sherman, of Oakland, California, will arrive in Elwood on the Pennsylvania railroad Saturday afternoon and will be taken to the Copher and Fesler funeral home. Funeral rites will be conducted from there at 2:00 o'clock by Helen Plackard of Orestes, a Christian Science Reader. Burial will be made in the City cemetery.
Mrs. Sherman died in a hospital at Oakland, California, Monday from complication resulting from the birth of a son, Max Ward Sherman, on July 16.
Survivors include the husband, the infant son, Max Ward: a son Arthur Bangle, stationed at Camp Atterbury, and a daughter Nora Bangle by a former marriage, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ward, of this city.
