- Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior on Friday morning, January 25th, 2008. Norman Willard McLaren of The Arnprior Villa and a longtime resident of Sandy Beach at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Ellenor (Nee Robinson). Loved and proud father of Gary (Valerie Stanton), Lynn Bartlett (Ian), Terry (Vicki) and Steven (June), all of Arnprior. Cherished grandfather of Lantz, Sharon Lea, Joanne, Johnathan, Clayton, Darlynn, Michelle, Shane, Terri-Anne, Neil and Shawn and great-grandfather of Tyler, Joshua, Owen, Nicholas, Neltje, Robin, Caeyln, Courtney, Caitlin, Amos and Wayland. Norm was predeceased by 2 brothers: Roy (late Sue) and Lloyd (Lois of Alliston) as well as 2 sisters: Ruth Ross (late John) and Olga McLaren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Norm will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his friends at The Villa. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside on Tuesday morning, January 29th at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. In memory of Norm, a donation made to The Grove Nursing Home, Arnprior would be appreciated by his family. Members of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 174, Arnprior will assemble at the funeral home for a tribute service on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
