  McGREGOR, Verna Ethel (nee Banning) 1919-2009 Peacefully in her sleep at Stoneridge Manor, Carleton Place, Ontario on Monday, March 9th, 2009. Verna Ethel McGregor beloved wife of the late Harold McGregor. Forever cherished by her children Harvey, June, Bill (Pam), Ron (Pat) and Marjorie (Chris). Beloved Granny of 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother Lorne (Muriel) Banning and sister Jean (Don) Lay, sister-in-law Yvette Banning and daughter-in-law Marnie. Predeceased by her sons Gerald and Bob, her son-in-law Howard, daughter-in-law Donna, grandson Kevin , infant great-grandson Ryan Gervais, sister Mildred (Don) Waters her brother Robert Banning and her parents James Banning and his wife Lena McCullough. Friends may call at the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
