- Ruth C. Reed, 74, 3522 Melodie Lane, Quincy, died Monday, October 16, 2000 at 9:45am in her home.
She was born February 15, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Otto and Olive Slack Rose. On September 15, 1978, she married Lawrence Reed in Hazlet, NJ. He survives.
She was activity director at Emory Manor Nursing Home in Matawan, NJ and in Oak View Manor in Old Bridge, NJ. She was a Sunday school teacher of Miriam class, ABW leader, Junior High Director, all in Matawan, NJ. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Quincy where she was choir director, organizer of 55 Plus, and she organized monthly activities at Koinonia Senior Citizen Group. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was active in the Women?s Group, and a Sunday school teacher in the ladies class.
Survivors in addition to her husband are 3 sons, Richard Eisenbeis, Matawan, NJ; James Eisenbeis, Lancaster, PA; Larry E. Reed, Raway, NJ; 4 daughters, Nancy Van Antwerp, Somerset, PA; Eileen Wagener, Lancaster, PA; Diane Shuttleworth, Willow Grove, PA; Karen Semenchik, Newton, NJ; 18 grandchildren; 1/2 brothers, Ronald Rose, Orange, CA; Robert Rose, San Diego, CA; Reid Rose, San Dimas, CA. She was preceded in death by a son in infancy David Eisenbeis, her parents and a brother Charles Rose.
Funeral Services Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 11 a.m. in Central Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Charles Baker and Rev. Ted Marrinan. Visitation will be 10 ? 11 a.m. Wednesday in Central Baptist Church. Burial in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet , NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to March of Dimes andor Central Baptist Church.
