- Jack D. Larkin, 79, of Battle Creek, died Friday, April 18, 2003 at Mercy Pavilion. He was born March 5, 1924 in Hastings, the son of Deyo and Lois (Lee) Larkin. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married M. LuAnne Edmunds in New York City, New York, in the Navy Chapel, June 23, 1944. She survives. He was an Industrial Engineer for the Kellogg Company for thirty-five years, retiring in 1978. Survivors also include his sons, Michael W. Larkin and Timothy J. Larkin, both of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by a brother, Laurence E. Larkin and a sister, Ena Doxey. Jack was a member of the Southern MI Industrial Engineers Association, the Elks, the USS NUENZER Destroyer Escort 150 Association and the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He enjoyed traveling, his motor home, fishing, hunting, boating, and woodworking. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003 at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. B. Mason Shambach officiating. Burial in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
